Was not keeping Ohio State ranked ahead of FSU leading up to championship week. Knowing that Texas, Alabama, and even Florida State would jump an idle OSU after the championship games if they won. The precedent would have been set a week prior. If Alabama and Texas go on and lose then FSU gets the 4 spot.

I really don't think the committee is corrupt as much as incompetent. Didn't have enough people with football knowledge. Remember, Boo Corrigan and 4 other members of the committee have ACC ties yet Florida State is left out.

No, they are corrupt

Same thing happened in college basketball

NIT tourney was the premier tournament for deciding National Champion. It was invitation only so it was based on your actual games (and before the post season tournaments allowed tournament winner the spot over the season winner)

Walter Beyers was the mob boss at the time and he was in the B1G and PAC pocket.

NCAA tournament kept expanding and went to a committee to let special interests hold sway over actual games.

The CFP was not aimed at getting SEC teams in, it was all about getting non SEC teams in from the B1G and PAC after they lost power of the NCAA and Rose Bowl no longer letting certain schools strong-arm in.

B1G is a football conference of cowards and also rans after WW II ended, just you Youngbloods did not live through the history to see it all with your own eyes.

Did they become corrupt this year? Last they put TCU in over Bama even though any knowledgeable football fan knew that Bama was a better team than TCU.

Man, and I thought this place was where you read the dumbest takes by fans.

The amusing part is that it's MICHIGAN fans doing it.

The fact that they're scared shitless to play Alabama and were PRAYING to get FSU should be everything you need to know about them.

Exactly.

The playoff has never been about the four best teams.

Always corrupt

The goal is to get B1G and PAC schools in with a committee

Neither are in the B1G or PAC

The Committee biggest mistake was to continue ranking Michigan even though they were caught cheating beyond any reasonable doubt. They should have stopped ranking them immediately.

They could have justified it by claiming that since Michigan was cheating for the first 8 games they could not use any "data points" from those games, so Michigan doesn't have enough data points to compare with other teams.

That's actually a fair point. Michigan should have been the one left out. I don't think anyone would have an issue with that.

Their biggest mistake was claiming they can predict how FSU with 4 weeks to heal and prepare would perform with Tate Rodemaker. They came right out and said they looked into their crystal ball and couldn’t see FSU being competitive without Jordan. They can’t predict that. Especially after FSU won twice without Jordan. You play the games for a reason. For all we know other teams’ players will get injured before the games are played and it will affect how they play.

This is my biggest gripe with it. Yeah, they'll be playing with the backup quarterback but he's also going to get a month of practices in so who's to say they won't perform well?
