Oklahoma scored 23 points against Alabama and Oklahoma’s longest offensive drive was 41 yards.

Yes but they also got to Simpson a lot. Their front seven is elite

Does beating Georgia twice knock them out? How many times should you have beat the same team for this to be out of the playoff.
Could you imagine the melt when a team inevitably beats another particular team 2 times but then loses the most important game 3 in the playoffs.

Not that far fetched with conference championships. Could happen this year.

I agree, but I think a bad loss could still knock them out.

I agree but it's going to need to be bad.

I think being only ranked #9 as of now is going to give Bama motivation to play hard on Saturday and treat the CCG as a must win situation.

They can't let the committee weigh them vs. Oklahoma for the last spot because the committee has already said effectively tonight how that will go. Unlike Oklahoma, they control their destiny because they can just win the CCG and guarantee they are in.

BYU knows they absolutely must win to get in but I just don't see them beating Tech. It was not competitive the first time around.

Seems the SEC is safely a 5 bid league so long as Bama doesn't get completely blown out.

I didn’t say there would be banner but finishing first in the regular season in the toughest conference should count for something correct?

Back in the day Bama, Ole Miss and Georgia would've all be named SEC champions and all three programs would count it in the record books. And then the Sugar Bowl would pick whichever one they felt like picking.

This gives them the debate of ND vs Miami all over again.

Committee is clear that you can’t be punished for losing a CCG, but you could be jumped by another that did well.

By moving Bama over ND, that makes it so BYU can’t knock out Bama if they win…so ND is out with BYU win

The playoff committee is so random and scatterbrained that two people can watch the same show and have two different takeaways lol.

Hosting a CFP game would be fun but Bama like UGA is beat to hell right now and desperately could use a week off to get the skill players healthy again.

A healthy Bama team could make a run, the current version is just fighting to stay alive.

You get a couple weeks off, then another week and a half before the next game. There is a reason all the teams with byes lost last year. It is tough to be ready to play at the top level when you havent played a game in 4-5 weeks
