Committee got it right, it's the system that's flawed.

Alabama should be in, just like I thought OSU should have last year. That is not the problem I see with the current set up. Until they expand to 8 teams, there will always be a chance that a conference title game could penalize a team, and not playing it helps another team out. This should never be the case. Wisconsin is sitting at home last weekend and in the playoff if they were an independent. I hope it's just one more step to 8 teams, that's what we all want to see.

They need to change the selection criteria from "Four best teams" to "Four Most Deserving Conference Champions".

frick a bunch of expansion.

8 teams.

5 conference champions

3 wild cards

December 9th - Round One

December 16th - Round Two

January 1st - Round Three

January 8th - National Championship

It's not a hard thing to figure out. It doesn't mess with players going home for Christmas or the bowl season. If anything, it makes the bowl season a bit more exciting because we can get charged up by the tournament of champions.

No more discussing extensive breaks between games. Alabama will go over a month before their next game. That's silly and could break their rhythm. We'll get better football games if they play through December.

EDIT - I messed up the rounds. Oh well. Not editing.

There will always be controversy. Basketball has 68 teams, and people still bitch about the teams that get left out.

If you can't get in the top 4, you have no right to bitch about not getting to play for the national championship.

So you are saying that if Wisconsin had sat at home and finished 12-0 the committee would consider them better than Bama?

Why didn't the committee consider them better than Bama and put them in the playoff yesterday?

Right, until #9 has a case against #8.

Basically, what people want is whatever is favorable to their agenda.

I'd rather have the old BCS ranking system than a bunch of people in a room.

Unless they let the Rant pick the teams. Would be glorious.

I like 4 teams, I don't want to see a bunch of 2 loss teams in there.

Keep it at 4 but with a stipulation that they add a play in game if there's a situation where the 4/5 teams are in a situation like this.

Why did the committee move bama to 5 in the first place if they were always top 4?

Has there been a year yet where there wouldn't have been a push for this?

Four is good. There hasn't been a team yet that has had a legitimate reason to bitch.

That is like my worst nightmare but it will happen eventually. I love 4 teams and think its perfect. 8 would be ok but still not what I would personally want, 16 teams would just start to change what makes CFB different and why I like it the most. Just my opinion.

8 fixes most issues. 5 conf champs plus 3 at large.

Number 9 really doesn't have much of an argument.

I just don't think its necessary and I like the 4 team system we currently have.
