The best bars for you will be The Carousel or Rainbow Club West.

Have fun.

Ok, I'm done. Vols, beat UGA and get back where you belong.

I'm going up in two weekends for LSU-UT.

Definitely going to Ye Olde Steakhouse. Pretty sure I can't afford it, but I've seen their steaks on the Travel Channel and there's no way I'm passing that shite up.

I don't know but you're right about that. Every game I've been to it's been absolutely packed. One of the best tailgating scenes in the country
wait, the best tailgating you have ever seen was at a bar?

This place is awesome!!! Ruth Cris on the river is also incredibly good and it's not nearly as far away from downtown as Ye Olde. We have some good steak places around Knox.

Ye Olde Steakhouse has been slipping in recent years and is starting to get overrated. We go at least twice a year, and since 2009 it hasn't been as great as normal. Must get a filet, any other cut isn't worth it. IMO

Any advice from those who have been there on where to go and what to do

It's been a while back, but about the only thing I can remember to give you advice about is if you are in the McDonald's parking lot and some Tennessee fans hanging around a pickup truck offer you a swig from a milk jug filled with clear liquid...don't do it!

Go to either Ruth's Chris or Calhouns

I'm going to the LSU/UT game next week. Our group is going to Calhouns the night before the game. This is my first trip to Knoxville.

can't wait. I've always heard Calhouns mentioned on this board. Trying to get to every SEC campus for a football game.
