Injuries are part of the game. No doubt Georgia doesn't win their first NC in 40 years but for the fact Bama had both starting WRs injured. It's just how the game is.

Funny that OP is complaining about this when Texas was on the other side of it earlier in the season. Texas wouldn't have even made it to the NCG if Sam Bradford doesn't get hurt in their game vs OU. Texas beat them by just 3 points even with a freshman Landry Jones playing most of the game

Yeah, many people who don't read very thoroughly. They also assign many of their inaccurate inferences based just on their respective fandoms. Not great...

Such a stupid play call to use him on a designed QB run that early in the game. It’s not like he was an explosive runner or something

It wasn't exactly a designed QB run, it was a speed sweep/option. He was forced to keep the ball because the play was well defended and if he had pitched it, it would have been 6 points for Alabama. That is why he kept the ball and turned up field, he would have run into that same defender for a loss otherwise. Perfect defensive play.

I mean running was an option, but generally when I think of QB designed run it means that was the plan from the start, no other options.

Colt McCoy Answers the If Colt Hadn't Got Hurt thing...

You likely aren't familiar with al.com because you don't live in Alabama. al.com is a notoriously anti-Bama outlet that very rarely has anything positive to contribute concerning Alabama.

It took many of us by surprise when they went with this:

headline shortly after the game.

And really, I think it is true too.

No one, anywhere, ever found anything wrong with Colt McCoy. No team doctors, no NFL doctors, no doctors in Texas, etc... could ever verify exactly what happened to "Colt's Shoulder" other than that he was just a massive pussy. No diagnosis of any type of injury was ever given because there didn't seem to really be an injury.

Truth be told, when Mommy and Daddy and Coltie huddled in the locker room and started discussing that fricking animal that hit baby boy like a freight train, they decided some ginormous NFL money may have been jeopardized if he went back in the game and really got hurt, like, for real hurt.

truth be told, he had a pinched nerve in his neck as a result of the hit, which was a recurring injury for him.

Your homer bullshite notwithstanding—and by the way there’s no record of this Al.com headline anywhere on the internet—let’s get the facts right for everyone, mmmk ?

Truth be told, the truth of your statement can't be verified and has not been verified. You certainly don't seem to be a doctor. And, if you were a doctor, you didn't examine him did you?

Because, you know, no doctor on Planet Earf who checked him out after the game could detail a single issue that he was having as a result of the collision on the field that prompted him to behave like a giant, massive pussy.

It was like there was nothing wrong with him. I guess the old "pinched nerve" excuse is kind of like the headache excuse isn't it.

People get headaches, sure, but if someone says they have one and really don't, how is it to be proven that they really don't?

If every time the going got tough for Coltie, he pulled the 'ole pinched nerve routine as you describe as being an oft-repeated phenomenon for him, that just adds more proof to the pudding that he was, and likely still is, just a large gash.

These Texas posters act like millions of dollars isn't enough to possibly sway the opinion of a family known to have a son that got "injured" almost as much as he stayed healthy.

Because he played football for 'dem Longhorns, that automatically immunized him against wanting to earn millions of dollars.

Money doesn't mean that much to Longhornian players, it's all about the school they love and the team they represent and their fellow players that rely on each other like brudders.

Al.com - 1/8/10

UT Athletics Press Release - 1/11/10

Per the Head Trainer:
quote:

Head football athletic trainer Kenny Boyd said, “Colt sustained a nerve injury involving his right shoulder that prevented him from returning to the game. The injury caused numbness and weakness in his arm that prevented him from throwing with the strength or accuracy he needed. He wanted to go back into the game but with the weakness he was having in the shoulder, we couldn’t clear him to do that. “The weakness in his shoulder also put him at risk of greater injury. From the time of the injury, we were continually treating and re-evaluating him, but he wasn’t able to regain the strength he needed to get back on the field.”

Put your in foil hat on and go back to peeling the laminate off your double-wide if you want, but those are the verifiable facts.

Right, right, the old "nerve injury" situation. It's much like the sprained toe dilemma. Neither one can be seen on a x-ray, verified, or shown to be real or not real.

He wasn't treated for any injury. Never spent a day in the hospital or had any specified recovery time, no post-injury protocol to follow to ensure his well-being, etc... It was just whenever he felt better, that is when he was better.

I'm sure he felt immediately better right after the danger of getting his head twisted around again was passed.

Not a guarantee. TCU was right behind you at no.3 and undefeated. They and Cincinnati were not P5 but were above a 1 loss UF that just lost to the no.1 team in Bama so clearly they were highly thought of.

Point is injuries are a part of the game. Texas beat OU in 2009 just like Bama won the title in 09 but lost it in 2021. It happens
