That is why I don't like the new catching techniques with a knee down - no one gets in proper position to block balls now and they assume every ball is going to bounce high and not stay low.

Agree, seems like it is harder to drop and block in that stance. But, Im old school

I caught in middle school.. used to love to imitate Benito Santiago and throw from my knees, but I never started from my knees. That would have completely limited my mobility.. not even sure what the thought process is to start there, but i don’t like it.
