I agree, lot of girls rupturing their biceps.

Did Jackie rupture hers?

She was a beast and if she could pitch 3 then let her pitch 3

Baseball needs to make a major rule change that allows the best pitchers to start a greater percentage of the games.

I think the idea is if it’s a team sport with a pitching “staff” it shouldn’t be allowed for one person to make up the whole staff.
Football is a team sport. Do you think the #2 QB should have to start 40% of the games?

"Because baseball/softball is a team sport and should be constructed as such."

The other position players play every game. Why is the pitcher any different? It's only a position on the team as are all of the others.

I think just not allowing back to back starts would do the trick

Day 1, Pitcher 1 starts and pitches CG
Day 2, Pitcher 2 starts, throws one pitch, is pulled. Replaced by pitcher 1

Come on people, think

Ma!!!!! I got a triggered Florida fan.

Hey you. Whoever you are. Barnhill is better at the triple jump than she is at legally pitching

You get that rule passed and Murphy would have to retire. He’s one of the coaches that will ride one arm until it falls off.

Isn't there a certain area she can't cross before she throws the ball?

Oh I know. I don’t necessarily think that it should be a rule, i just understand where people who do say that are coming from

That and there’s also a rule regarding where your feet can be and whether you can jump or release the ball in the air. Doesn’t matter to Barnhill though

Seems to me that it's the baseball players that need too much rest.
Back when real men played baseball 100 years ago, pitchers pitched all the time. Didn't Cy Young pitch like 1000 innings in one year, whereas today's pitchers can't make it to 200 innings without going on the DL.

Well, does Barnhill pitch in a way that is legal under the current rules?

No way one girl should get to start three consecutive games and throw nearly four hundred pitches in 72 hours. There needs to be at least two days between starts so that a team wins with a staff and not the coattails of one recruit.

If a player’a good enough to do that, why should there be a rule to stop them?
I've seen men pitchers go three times in a day! There's no dangerous stress on the shoulder throwing under hand. If it doesn't injure the player and they're in good enough shape to toe the rubber that much...more power to'em!

Her foot never leaves the ground. It’s if she replants before releasing, which she’s been called for at the WCWS.

Her foot does leave the ground. That’s so fricking obvious you could see it just in the clips of the tenner game they showed yesterday. Stop being a homer

Watch a slowdown clip of her throwing motion. Her toe never leaves the ground.

And LOL at you of all people calling me a homer.
