Of course we could do worse. I just don't want our next coach to fall into a cycle of the fanbase hating him for underachieving but the administration loving him for his wins. Who knows how our next hire plays out, I was just discussing one possibility.

Y'all have put more players in the NFL since 2000 than any other SEC school, I'd bet.
While Miles has won a lot, he backed into a national championship seven years ago and has done jack shite since in terms of the national scale.
Miles is just a luckier version of Richt.

Oregon is the reigning king of the Pac-12.
There is only one king of each conference, and Southern Cal, without a doubt, is the king of the Pac 12.
I cannot believe I am arguing with you about this.
Again, it's a great time to be an Oregon Duck, no doubt. However, you're a fricking idiot if you think the Trojans won't be on top again, in terms of the standings, very soon.
Please read this post slowly as it may aid in your comprehension of the subject matter.

Agreed, except for Richt is a competent gameday coach and hasn't been plagued with terrible playcalling decisions since time immemorial.

Are they about to be sanctioned by the NCAA?

Not that I know of.
Remember the mid-2000s? Remember when Auburn and LSU were wrecking shop in the SEC? Remember when Alabama sucked dick?
That is what is about to happen out west. Daddy Southern Cal is about to be great again.

bullshite. how old are you? do you recall how much bama struggled after stallings and before saban. if saban had not taken the job they would still be struggling. they spent about 15 years and 4 or 5 coaches before saban. they were VERY lucky that saban didn't like the nfl.

They certainly struggled post-Stallings.
However, grandpa, don't forget that they have had five national championship winning coaches - we're not talking about a flash in the pan here.

USC will have to reclaim that title...from Oregon. I expect USC will be better, but they've been out of the game for a while. We'll see.

They finished ranked #6 with 11 wins in 2011, dumbass

Well, your right, Oregon should just roll over, they're done. Quit recruiting, quit coaching and quit competing. The Trojans are too much to bare. I feel bad for the Ducks now, especially since it was good to be a Duck...as you stated. What will they do??

quote:Alabama has had 5 coaches win National Championships - there's stability and consistancy in that program. Alabama is a national brand with plenty of resources at their disposal. They aren't immune to having an administration frick things up for a period of time (15 yrs of poor hires and probation) - but overall, they live up to their elite status.

I know les has made some idiotic decisions with QB and with clock management. But he also got Coach O, Coach Raymond, Cameron, and that other guy who's DC at aTm
and he's won 21 games while down in the fourth quarter. He's done a lot of good and is too 10% in wins out of any other coach in the country
Bad news spreads faster than good news.

I've always thought southern cal gets ranked a little too highly on these lists.

Not sure why you're laughing?
It's all subjective.
At the risk of waning philosophical, there is no truth, where any of this is concerned.
Yet folks respond to posts like these as if they're based on some kind of mathematical certainty.
