I can only imagine a day game against Georgia in the summer

People already falling out left and right when it’s in September

If they’re even considering this absurd idea in the slightest, that should tell you everything you need to know about what they’re thinking the chances are of playing a normal college football season in the fall.

The NCAA can not afford to lose football revenue.

Night games in the summer sounds awesome

I can't imagine playing in 90-100 degree heat in full pads. I just don't see it.

They would also have to start immediately....ukless they shortened the season precipitously. By the time you give them a month or so to get in shape and do preseason practices, etc....I just don't see it.

They would have to move every game in the south to a 7/8 pm kickoff. June/July in Knoxville is unbearable as it is, imagine a day time kickoff in Gainesville

Sounds plausible in theory but is only going to put players at risk given lack of offseason conditioning that has been going on. Gives them even less time to prepare and asks them to play in hottest conditions of the year? Doubtful

Not to mention at a time when Coronavirus spreading would be at its peak.

Horrible idea. I would rather they cancel the season.

Summertime in the south is already hot enough, having pads on and a helmet would be unbearable! Imagine a 4th of July game in Florida at 2:30... No way in hell this happens lol

think that is a terrible idea. Coupling fears of the disease with brutal heat, no one in their right mind would attend those games

They attend baseball games in "BRUTAL HEAT!" Why not football? They would attend but the fallout could be bad.

I'm sure this will work for the Arizona and Las Vegas teams.

ASU would be playing in 110 degree heat even during some night games.

I've seen 106 degrees at 4 AM. In August it gets over 100 and stays...day and night.

The problem with cancelling fall sports is that they’ll also have to cancel the fall semester. You can’t do it halfway. If the stadiums are empty in the fall, the campuses will be too.

This is much bigger than fall sports.

Why would they move it up and not back? Isn’t the whole point to avoid any conflicts with corona virus?

Move it up to avoid corona. The second wave comes in the colder weather.

If you think 6’ social distancing is feasible on a large university campus and in the classrooms, I don’t know what to tell you. I went to LA Tech and it wouldn’t even be possible on a campus that size.

So yeah, if they cancel the fall sports, they’ll be cancelling school (at least on-campus).
