Might be the best idea yet: July, August, Sept? Hopefully finished before wave 2.

Damn. I hope they plan to play the games at night. Imagine a 3 o'clock in the afternoon start in the middle of July.

That will never happen though. Way too many variables

I’m glad they’re exploring options at least

Sounds plausible in theory but is only going to put players at risk given lack of offseason conditioning that has been going on. Gives them even less time to prepare and asks them to play in hottest conditions of the year? Doubtful

Going to be very rough on players, especially those in the South.

Let’s be real here, if they’re exploring options then most likely the season will get cancelled.

Why would they move it up and not back? Isn’t the whole point to avoid any conflicts with corona virus?

I joked around about it in the Herbstreit thread. But, I actually like (or at least don't hate) the idea of flipping all of the big 3 college athletics' seasons around.

Finish up NCAA basketball with December/Holiday Madness.

Then, transition to a new tradition of New Year's Kickoff Classics and the Memorial Day Six games, with warm bowl seasons to open venues nationwide.

Summer into Fall Baseball. Fans could take Thanksgiving trips to Omaha.

Plus, coming out of our current situation, every University could use the cash flow injection of football next spring to get things going again

It's based on the idea that the virus will disappear in the hot, humid summer months and then make a return when it cools off again.

Absolutely 0% chance that happens its already tough on players and fans in early September you go to june-july out in that heat there will be no player safety you will see alot of injuries and possibly heat exhaustion and or stroke

LSU vs Texas July 4 weekend. It’s gonna be hot in September, but can you imagine July?

I like the sound of that next year under these shitty circumstances.

They might need to rethink Thanksgiving trips to Omaha though. It can get pretty damn cold and could potentially snow a lot. Maybe try Arizona for a year?

Spring football season sounds great though. March/April/May in the south is so damn nice!

Nah ; sounds like one of those cover all
bases, including your ass, when the
question is asked, "well why wasn't this even
considered ?" It's all based on the premise
that like others, this virus would be seasonal--but
even if so, probably would take another month or so to determine. Then, logistics and huge liabilities from heat, not to mention how much fan interest and/or trust in getting with crowds would still exist.
Hate the thought of this, but it is really shaping up to be a season with cobwebs & silence in college football stadiums.

I think that is a terrible idea. Coupling fears of the disease with brutal heat, no one in their right mind would attend those games.

Besides, teams wouldn't have any time to practice. The product on the field would be dismal for most teams.
