was talking about the no fear of 80 year old Saban comment but I have a feeling you already knew that

Which is it?

Bama was afraid to schedule 2 P5 00C opponents at once?
Or no one wanted a home and home with Bama?

Honestly. What team wouldn't want a crack at Bama in their home stadium?

You stated this twice in the first three posts of this thread.

Who are you trying to convince?

They always seem to play Vandy, Mizzouri, Kentucky in the regular season while almost never playing Florida or Georgia.

Since Saban arrived at Alabama in 2007, we have played Georgia just as many times as Vanderbilt in the regular season. We've only played Missouri in the regular season three times since they arrived in the SEC.

No, the off-season training program to play and prepare for the vaunted tempo that Chip Kelly pioneered prepped that team for even greater heights than if they opened with Middle Tennessee State.

I listened probably 15 years ago and I disagree

What Colin Cowherd still does now that he did 15 years ago...

He still has a take that is mildly interesting and is worth a mention and maybe a sentence or two... and then spends a whole segment telling you why it is such a great take.

Other than Duke, they were all good when we scheduled the games. shite happened though and we still have to hear this narrative. It's a consequence of having to schedule these games 7-10 years in advance

No doubt, and again, mine was not a criticism of Alabama. It's just that y'all were so good you made other good teams look meh.

You're right, we should have scheduled the 49ers those years. Scheduling is a two way street and the other schools have to agree.

I think you missed my point.

He is spot on. The only upside to expansion in my opinion. Weve had 4 season tickets to UGA games since 1990 and most years the home schedule is abysmal. The WLOCP plays a small roll in that as does our annual good old fashioned hate game against a GT team that is mostly non-existent. Usually the "good" OOC games are in a neutral site so that ain't included in the season ticket package. I suspect UFs home schedule is similar most years.

Just browsing through a few of UGA's week 1 openers since Saban, you've got ULM, Louisiana, Buffalo, Austin Peay and Vandy by comparison.

So all that matters is Week 1?

2007: vs. Oklahoma State
2008: at Arizona State
2009: at Oklahoma State
vs. Arizona State
2010: at Colorado
2011: vs. Boise State
2013: at Clemson
2014: vs. Clemson
2016: vs. North Carolina
2017: at Notre Dame
2019: vs. Notre Dame
2021: vs. Clemson
2022: vs. Oregon

Was set to go to Oklahoma this year before the league told both schools to cancel the game.

Anyone accusing Georgia of gerry-rigging weak schedules is either ignorant or lying through their teeth.

The only element of Georgia’s schedule that’s been weak are their annual set conference opponents that have sucked shite through a straw for the last decade.

Not our fault. Blame Auburn, Florida and Tennessee.

Since Saban got here? Four times (2010, 2011, 2014, and 2021). We also had just got done with a home-and-home against them when Saban arrived in 2007. Alabama beat them in Bryant-Denny in 2005 and lost to them in the Swamp in 2006.

Also...I don't think anyone can ever accuse Alabama of dodging Florida. Other than Tennessee, we've played them more times than any other team from the SEC East since the year 1990.

We ran into them in 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1998, 1999 (x2), 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2020, and 2021.

He said there is a dearth of really good college football games, and that is the issue with CFB. He mentioned there are 50 games on Labor Day weekend and only two are even interesting, LSU-FSU and TCU-Colorado (probably due to Coach Prime).

No he is not right. He's a super casual viewer who only knows and cares about big brand names b/c HE DOESN'T ACTUALLY LIKE OR WATCH COLLEGE FOOTBALL. He's a star fricker and little more.

The dude has straight up said he doesn't care about a 10 win Utah or Oregon State playing a game b/c "They're not interesting". And why are they not interesting to him? B/c their national fanbases aren't big enough for him to think he can milk engagement for his bullshite show where he talks out of his arse everyday about shite he doesn't watch and knows little about.

Him and TV people like him are the fricking enemy of CFB and would drown it in a bathtub if it meant he only had to pay attention to 15 schools in some bullshite super league.

Bama has been notorious for scheduling a cupcake for its first game in November. At one point, I think they had beat that team something like 8 times in a row.

Great subtle dig at LSU

They are literally equal to the bottom half of the SEC.

So... how bad is the bottom 7 teams in the SEC?
