Mark Schmidt - St Bonaventure

He was a heckuva recruiter for Xavier when he was an assistant there. He landed a lot of NBA talent for the Muskies for Skip Prosser. He has done a great job turning around some nearly dead programs. If you can win at St Bonaventure, you know your basketball.

Stan Jones. Former MSU assistant, been Leonard Hamilton's right hand man for years.

That dude looks about 60. I highly doubt we go after a coach that old.

Great coach, but I don't think we go the assistant route.

Nobody in power conferences hires assistants to be head coaches any more. You always go after the hot mid major coaches.

I think he is 48 or 49. He played for Gary Williams at BC and finished school in 1985.

The guy I saw coaching St Bonn was white headed and bald if he is only in his late 40's time hasn't treated him very well.

Also career record 124-138. Ouch
Also, I doubt we would go after a coach from the northeast with no recruiting or coaching ties in the South.

I'll say it again because I think he is a very good coach.

Tim Cluess get you some. State will be contending for most of his tenure were he there.

A New Yorker would fit in up in Starkville about like I would fit in over in Tokyo.

If their smart, Miss State SHOULD be looking at VCU HC Shaka Smart.

Shaka is already being targeted by Illinois and will have his pick of schools. It would be a homerun hire for MSU, but I don't see Shaka going there unless there is a personal connection I am unaware of.

BIG difference between Starkville and Lexington.

No one one any of our message boards has even mentioned Cluess' name.

You put too much emphasis on location.

Always has been your problem. Your opinion goes the way of the majority and why you flip flop so much. I tried to help your school by offering the name of a very good coach. You and your AD have decided to look elsewhere. Good luck

By the way you can see Tim Cluess coach his team against BYU in the NCAA first round tomorrow. What time is States NCAA Tourney game at?

Fire Stansbury now. Have an operative in Columbia ready to cut the phone lines in the USCe AD when Wichita is bounced from the NCAAs. Throw the bank at Marshall before they get the chance to call him.

We are naming our new Women's Basketball coach tomorrow.

I'm guessing we just promoted from within.

Mullen had SEC experience. BIG difference.

Plus he actually is a Pennsylvania guy. He was only born in NH.

But seriously NIH, if you have ever been to NYC and Starkville you have to admit its two different worlds.

Heck rural New Hampshire or Penn. is closer to Starkville than NYC in how things are.
