Houston Dale Nutt would give App State a run for their money calling direct snaps to the RB.

I thought Johnson was a pretty good QB at LSU. Seems that JImbo's system is what's flawed. His offense is out of date and he hasn't changed with the times. It's worked for him in the past but it's a different game now. The thing that has helped Saban stay on top is his willingness to change with the times.

I feel like any post from an LSU fan will come across like sour grapes. Having said that, Johnson was an extreme QB. He could be really great (game winning drive against A&M and the Ole Miss game in 2020) and then he could be just aweful (no-look behind-the-back pass in the middle of the field against UCLA and the entire Bama game last year). He could make some really great throws and then have like 4 passes in a row that one-hopped the receiver. It was always impossible to know what to expect from him most games. I’m not saying we upgraded at the position but I can truly say I wasn’t sad to see him leave either!

Chad Morris lost by 40 to a WKU team lead by a hometown QB he ran off from our program.

He would look like a first round NFL talent in the first series or two, and lead some terrific scoring drives. Then he would quickly fizzle out, and the offense would stall for the rest of the game.

Playing Florida State, an ACC school and playing Appalachain State, a Sun Belt school, are very different things.
