It would take a TN win for Napier to have any chance of surviving.

Sam is safe if he goes to a bowl.

The big boosters make it sound like Napier could survive at 6-6. If he beats TN he is probably 50/50 to survive. If he somehow beat TN and KY it's likely he will be back next season.

Bert had good offenses. That wasn't his problem but going 8-14 in one possession games was what did him in.

The beginning of the end was when he had both 24-7 leads against Missouri and Virginia Tech to end the 2016 season. Instead of showing progress at 9-4, Arkansas finished 7-6.

Arkansas quit before the season began and got blown out by TCU at in the beginning of the 2017 season. Arkansas finished 4-8.

Both are not good coaches but Pittman was closer to a 10 season than Bert in 2021 with less talent than the 2015 season that had a lot more NFL talent. Pittman still has a chance to do better than Bert without question if he can have a 10 win season.

I would still give Pittman the edge considering he was in a terrible position with a 10 SEC game schedule in his first season. He won three SEC games.

Bert inherited a much better situation and gave Arkansas the very first 0-8 SEC season.

At a program like Arkansas winning 10 games or 9-3 is very good.

At Alabama if you're not in the playoffs each season then it is considered failure.

Florida has very high expectations.

Napier probably needs to go 9-3 or better to be completely safe.

I mean I think going 8-4 is enough to defer a termination by a year. Their schedule is absurd.

But I agree in the sense fanbases and alumni are sort of dumb and will fire someone when it makes the least sense (Nebraska firing Solich comes immediately to mind).

Yeah…my take was a hypothetical. I don’t think he’s going 8-4. Dude is cooked.

Yes. And I just want to clarify that in your hypothetical, I do think he'd make it another year. 7-5, might be cutting it. 6-6 would be good enough for the administration but I think boosters and fans are fed up with his garbage so IDK, maybe if one or two of those 6 wins were UGA/Texas or something like that.

fired from that fan base

If fanbases fired coaches, there would be double digit mid-season coaching searches every season.

If internet message board fans were responsible for hiring and firing; Aggie, LSU, Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina and Mississippi State would all currently be in the midst of a coaching search.

It’s crazy, the only thing that kept Bret from being successful was he was married to his offense.

I think it’s because he was married to a hot chick who he loved to party with. Sam basically ran the show when he was there the first time and when he left it was the beginning of the end for Bert.

Sam has shown that he’s willing to do what it takes to try to win games but the one thing he most needs right now is money to buy the best players which is out of his control.

Beamer is definitely warm. Tanner will be replaced and new ad want their pick..

Beamer needs 6 wins and 7 next year..

Yeah, you guys have to get a new AD before you let him try to hire again. Beamer isn’t even a bad coach, he’s just on the losing end of close games. Happened to Jimbo.

For Arkansas, I really thought 8 was the magic number of wins Sam needed this season to stay. But it sounds like going bowling will keep him another year. I’d be interested to see how many players on this current team he will keep, how many graduate or go on to draft. I think this is Landon Jackson’s draft year, so he might not be back if he’s All SEC 2 years in a row.

Landon Jackson is gone. Mel Kiper had him as one of his top ends in the draft.

Andrew Armstrong will be drafted.

Ja'quinden Jackson will be drafted.

Jayden Johnson will be drafted.

Doneiko Slaughter will drafted.

Players I believe that aren't on the draft radar but has a chance to be drafted.

Isaac Teslaa
Eric Gregory
Keivie Rose
Tyrone Broden
