Dude, a reporter asked him to address the reports that he was leaving. I can buy being surprised, but only the stupid could be blindsided by this

So you believe multiple underclassmen and the coaching staff knew Schloss was out after the season yet no one told the rest of the team?

I think the lack of ethics by Schloss was very offputting to Vitello

What is so unethical about taking a better job, and accepting a pay raise? It happens all the time in pretty much every line of work.

Yes. Jace found out from some other underclassmen. I expect Grahovac to go for sure. Jace won’t. Sorrel might. I expect A&M to barely be able to field a team next year.

And that was on purpose

Apparently the entire recruiting class knew weeks ago. None of the players recruited for A&M will play here next year.

None of those players will be playing for A&M because Texas took your entire coaching staff. Not because Schloss let a bunch of high school kids know that he was planning on leaving.

We lose a lot to the draft. Schloss is trying to take most of the underclassmen, and we have no incoming class. Pretty screwed

Dude, you need to look in the mirror and give yourself a pep talk. In the long run, aTm will be fine. It may take some time, but they’ll snag a worthy coach that isn’t a dick, and they’ll be fine.

TA knew, which is why the reporter was given the green light to ask the question.

I just watched the TA show from today. I would not say that seemed to be a group of people that knew schloss would be taking the UT job hours after their show ended.

Brauny (baseball expert) posted about it this morning. The Premium subscribers knew before it went public. Hard to realize just how badly Schloss fricked us until you put the pieces together

Texas friend told me that Schloss and Vitello
weee approached in late April around the time of the UGA series. Vitello leveraged that into a raise at Tennessee. Schloss said absolutely, but bringing my entire staff.

In May, A&M hits a slump and looks primed for an early exit. Then Monty gets hurt and Kent comes off the bench. Same Kent that has been feuding with Schloss all year.

Kent provides a spark and A&M goes on a tear. Meanwhile, Texas fans are supremely confident they have Schloss. They even have the contract numbers right - somebody talked on Texas side.

Pierce is fired on the day of game three, and Schloss apparently tells some of our underclassmen players that he and the staff are leaving for Texas, and he wants them to come. Unless their parents are liars. Seniors are in the dark - Schloss didn’t have the balls to tell them. Didn’t need to.

After the game, TA reporter asks Schloss about the rumors and he goes on some Jimbo-like rant. Then he approaches the reporter and tells him never speak to me again.

It all comes together when the team bus gets back and Schloss gets off the bus, tells Cain something and makes a beeline for the building. No A&M gear.

We didn’t even get a chance to counter. POS had his mind made up in April. Good riddance

Apparently he had accepted the Texas job back in April, when we were supposedly playing UGA.

Kendall Rogers is now reporting something similar and citing multiple sources:

One interesting note is that I was told by multiple sources today that this deal -- at least at the highest level -- was done between A&M's series with Georgia and before the Regional round. It's truly a fascinating search/hire to unpack. I'll have more.

should have realized what a PoS he was when he left TCU for us in the same manner. Good coach. Terrible human being. He will fit right in at Texas. Am I pissed? Yep. But this team is bigger than Schloss the Snake.

Is it? He quadrupled your total wins in Omaha in 3 years

Why? Did TCU deserve better when TAMU got him in 2021? Are people not allowed to change jobs?

Same as Franchione. FAggies don’t mind fricking other schools over as it suits them. frick those POS Aggies.

Team is basically gone. At least most won’t be going to Texas. Just his PoS staff that have ALSO known about this for weeks

Can still be offputting in how he talks to umps, but I understand it.

That being said, his interviews come across much better and his players seem all in.

We had Jackie Sherrill, so I guess I can respect the hustle.

A lot of this is what I’ve heard as well.

I think discussions happened in April-ish.

I think Schloss shared with staff. Then I think they selectively told kids in the interest of transferring them. If you talk to any of the parents they don’t seem surprised by this at all. Makes sense you would talk to the younger guys.

If our admin had any nuts at all they’d give those kids a nice NIL deal and have them sign affidavits detailing those meetings. Then the university sues Schloss & Co. for breach. I’d also make a claim for tampering against Texas. Do we win? I dunno, probably not. Does it shine a light on things and make Texas uncomfortable as they enter SEC. Yup.

I agree A&M needs to bring suit against Schloss and make this as uncomfortable as possible. He’s been coaching A&M while trying to steal players and recruits while being paid by A&M

Go completely scorched Earth and bring it all to light.

It’s the way Schloss did it. And TCU and A&M have never been rivals. Haven’t been in the same conference in 30 years. It would be like Florida taking a coach from Stetson.

Bama and A&M weren’t in the same conference when A&M hired Fran. And Fran was leaving Bama regardless back then because he said Bama lied to him when hey hired him about possible probation coming due to some sort of ncaa violations before he got there. Don’t you remember all of that? Plus, pretty sure A&M got the shitty end of that deal. He is a sucky coach who wa only successful when he had Gary Patterson with him.
