Love everything about LSU’s coach, always respectful, a total class act. He’s respectful of Alabama even though Bama fans admit this isn’t the same caliber of Saban defense that LSU has faced in the past. LSU’s defense might be a bit stronger.

The biggest myth about this game is that these two teams don’t have good defenses. Worse than typical? Sure. But still pretty damn good

S&P+ Rankings would disagree with you. Bama 8th, LSU 20th. Actually, Bama's S&P+ rating on Defense is higher than Auburn's.

I feel better when Bama fans inform me that LSU’s Heisman QB won’t be facing the same caliber of Saban’s defense as the past 8 years!

No, don't deflect, the comment you made was that LSU's defense is better than Alabama's this year, which is false.

Has any coach ever NOT respected the upcoming opponent? Seriously. Even Saban was speaking highly of Arkansas prior to the game last week. Not sure how he kept a straight face.

Both are extremely athletic and loaded with NFL guys but both have glaring weaknesses

LSU’s CB-3 is very weak.
Alabama’s middle is soft

As usual, dumb fricking bama fans ree'ing over a compliment because you didn't paint them as being the best at everything.

Both Defenses are better than people give them credit for. Numbers are skewed in part due to how much and fast both teams can score.

Yeah way too many people are sleeping both defenses. LSU's has gotten better and better while Alabama's is very good when going by the metrics.

64 points being the line, it is really encouraging to get the under.

My kingdom for a Dylan Moses. If Lebryan Ray was back and Christian Harris was the only TF linebacker starting it would change a ton. Shane Lee has been a nice player but hes the less ready of the true freshman

Compliment my arse. What most of us want on this board is objective discussion not trolling, apparently a difficult concept for quite a number of LSU posters.

Best thing to say is that neither defense is up to their usual standards but still pretty good. Should be an interesting game.

LSU's defense should be the toughest rush defense Alabama has faced all year, and Alabama's secondary should be the toughest LSU has faced all year. Burrow of course is great and will have success through the air, but LSU's running game concerns me more.

If Bama only had 2 good receivers, I would feel a lot better about slowing them down. Unfortunately, their #4 would be #1 at many P5 schools.

this was actually a brilliant switch by Brady in the Auburn game. They were dropping 7 defensive backs so we switched to running it off tackle instead of at those to Monster DTs Auburn had and it worked.

I will say Brady's ability to adjust in game is a welcome surprise.

Our defense has been completely different since our starting D-Line has come back healthy

I don't think we can attack Bama's secondary as much as other teams. I'm think we attack the LBs were you are a little weak with RB and TE over the middle for dink and dunk yardage.

Our nickle CB concerns me our Starting CBs are both future 1st round pick though. Bama is three deep at least at WR as are we. These teams are really evenly matched looking forward to the game.

I use YPP, Opp. 3rd Down %, Opp. Punts Per Play, and Opp. Offensive TDs Per Game.

Then I weight them against strength of opponent's offenses, removing that team. So all of these stats weighted for the strength of all of LSU's opponents offense, removing LSU game from the list.

This is the top 25 defenses...the units are incredibly close.

#1. Ohio State
#2. Wisconsin
#3. Clemson
#4. Iowa
#5. Michigan
#6. Georgia
#7. Utah
#8. Penn State
#9. Auburn
#10. LSU

#11. Oregon
#12. Alabama
#13. Pittsburgh
#14. Central FL
#15. Michigan St
#16. Notre Dame
#17. Northwestern
#18. App State
#19. Kansas St
#20. Virginia
#21. Florida
#22. Minnesota
#23. UAB
#24. Boise State
#25. Missouri

FTR, I did this for offense too with a few more stats and Bama is #1 and LSU is #4.

That's pretty easy to do when you compare schedules.
