ESPN - garbage list. Arkansas is a terrible job because it is lower tier SEC. You have to resurrect the program from the grave

Arkansas also has a cadre of some of the richest boosters in the country, is in one of the consistently top ranked places to live, has facilities that match or beat anyone, and just gave their coach with a losing conference record almost 6 years to figure it out.

It's a better job than you're making it out to be. But yes, it does have its limitations

Power 4 open jobs ranked by ESPN

1. LSU
2. Penn State
3. Florida
4. Auburn
5. Oklahoma State
6. Virginia Tech
7. Arkansas - lol.
8. Stanford
9. UCLA

Stanford could out-NIL all those programs put togther if they really, really wanted to, but that's not what they are about.

Auburn will be hiring their fourth HC this decade and this decade isn’t even halfway done. Why on earth would an up and coming HC go there when it will be very lucky for him to get three years there?

Stanford and UCLA would be 1 and 2 if they could find it to care about football.

UCLA only cares about basketball and Stanford only has an athletic department just so their rich kids can train for the Olympics.

Oklahoma State has no resources. Their NIL is much worse than ours. They are legit poor. Only donor they had with real money passed away

Lower tier SEC teams are fricked. It is getting crowded in the SEC, and not everyone can win. If you do win and don’t get to the playoffs some of these schools might actually fire you

A promising coach should go elsewhere that the expectations aren’t insane

Even when Stanford was winning, they couldn't fill up the stadium.

Arkansas had 75,000 show up for Notre Dame after losing to Memphis.

Because they beat Arkansas even with an historically bad team maybe? They have been the better program the last 25 years for sure. Who cares which was the better program in 1969.

Can’t fully agree with that. The right coach can get things rolling anywhere if the donors get behind him.

OM is a prime example. Has always been the bottom of the SEC until Lane and now look at them

Aggies are another example this year. They have been bottom of the barrel since the 40s and look at them right now.

Expectations at Arkansas aren’t crazy either.

Yes they were a good program until the only big donor they have passed away. There is a reason they fell off once T Boone was gone. Oklahoma State is dirt poor now

He lost his chance.

Kind of got the vibe that the door was open but it would take a win or two for it to happen.

It’s not happening so far.

Now if they get told no by 3-4 guys…?

They would have to get told no by 15-20 guys. Petrino won’t be in Arkansas a month from now

You can't expect him to get the job losing to Auburn and State at home.
