I think it is exactly why so many LSU fans are giving Richt a hard time. My opinion I guess.

The tipped pass was ran with :15 seconds to go from the 8. A spike probably takes the game clock down to 13. Maybe if the ball is on the 2 you can run three quick slants in 13 seconds but at the 8 your looking at 7 to 9 seconds a play. Again my opinion but I dont think you get 3 plays. Especially not if you sub on offense giving BAMA a chance to sub on D making the ref hold the snap until the D is set (see above post).

Saban butchered the end of the first half.

This is awesome. By and large, UGA, Bama and other impartial fans agree that it wasn't some horrible blunder.

LSU fans think it was. And the reason for this is explained in the OP. Yet LSU fans continue.

Love this place.

Whatever makes you feel better about CLM. Tell us again how great he and Mett did against the same D with :51 left.

if you think 2 throws to the endzone is better than 3 based simply on the fact that the defense would be allowed to substitute then i guess i disagree with you. about all it boils down to.

They would have clocked it at about 12 seconds, same play happens, clock still runs out.

like i said they wasted 8-10 seconds earlier in the drive as well by not spiking. he gave away a full play (two but i cant blame the tip on him) by having poor clock management.

The main blame on the play should go to gurley as the line was in a complete slide opposite of him and his job was to attack the LOS and if he would have attacked mosley then the tip would not have happened. We had milner set up perfectly for the back shoulder fade for the win.

Not even close to possible, I think CLM may not be able to read numbers. There's no other way he'd frick up so much shite with clock management.

It's much worse than anything Coach Miles has ever done. Richt committed an unforgivable error, whereas all of Coach Miles's errors are understandable and forgivable.

Richt is a horrible in game coach, as is Saban.

They did not have a single play stopped short of the line in bounds until the lost one. They got out of bounds multiple times.

And they ran 8 plays in 1:08 with zero timeouts. Just watch some last minute offenses and tell me how often teams manage that many plays in that short of time with zero timeouts. Probably less than 10% of the time. It's extremely impressive.

That's highly debatable. Should be able to clock it at 14 seconds but 13 is possible. Again, there was 9 seconds left when they snapped that last play. With the extra 4 (or 5) seconds, they should've been able to spike it and run another play.

I think they only get 2 plays off instead of 3 because after the spike you dont have enough time to run three plays at the end zone from the 8 yrd line in about 13 seconds. The point about the defense subbing was valid. As UGA did to BAMA at the end of the first half, if the offense subs a player at any time during the 3 attempts the D can run a player out late and the ref will hold the snap killing time.
