Is this even really a question? Edward Aschoff seems to think so. I am interested in hearing what the rant has to say.

This time last year Barkley was supposed to be the #1 pick, see how that worked out?

Bridgewater's stock will fall IMO

The Bridgewater hype machine is in full effect, but Clowney seems to be the premier prospect.

I don't necessarily see it falling but I don't think it matters. Anything short of a career-ending injury means Clowney is hands down the best player in the draft, he's truly a once-in-a-generation type of talent.

Of course team needs must be assessed, but unless I didn't have any QB worth a shite, I'd take Clowney 10/10 times.

It depends on what team has the #1 pick. The best player isn't always the first player taken. Clowney is obviously the better player.

Bridgewater, or whatever QB emerges

The Jags are going to be desperate for a QB.

That would be typical. The jags will probably pick a QB that never amounts to much with the first pick and have to think about the dumb decision of passing on the sure thing for the next 10 years. Jags gonna Jag.

I think Bridgewater is pretty damn good and will be a good pro QB.

Clowney is the most sure fire elite pass rusher since Julius Peppers came out of UNC. No team is going to pass on him.

If the Jags get the #1 pick and Bridgewater maintains his stock, then yes, the Jags will probably pass on Clowney.

Not a flame at all, but I was absolutely amazed at what he did to UF. I mean, UF beat JFF in college station. The kid is talented but Clowney is far an away the most talented player in CFB

If the Jags get the #1 pick and draft Bridgewater, no one is going to care how good Clowney does in the pros as long as Bridgewater turns into a good NFL QB.

Also, no. Weaver and Smith are gone.

Is he really that transcendent? I know he is good, but the hype seems to be getting out of control with comments like this. Maybe I just haven't seen him play enough.

It's not that he's the greatest right now, he has the potential to be. He's made big time plays as a freshman and sophomore. Imagine what he does with an NFL quality workout everyday.

ETA: Even though he is the greatest right now
