So the writer says Bama is the best ever after saying others would put asterisks from anything coming from that season, mentions all of the all Americans from that team but leaves out how many all
Americans opted out, including players like Chase and Micah Parsons, and tons of marginal talent while Bama had none? All the while playing in front of empty stadiums….
But he ranked them 1st? Not sure they should be on any top ten list to be honest with those circumstances.

They get ranked over LSU all the time and they should be. LSU wasn't even #1 in F+ in 2019 because your defense wasn't a top10 defense.
You have to be elite on both sides of the ball.

2020 was a great team but unlike LSU fans with 2019, most of us haven't tried to mythologize it and turn it into something it wasn't. It was a great team, don't get me wrong, but I still think 1995 Nebraska is the standard in the annals of college football.

My favorite is LSU fans trying to pretend 2019 'Bama was a much better team than 2020, despite the '19 defense having to start 3rd string guys at ILB due to injury that would barely get onto the field playing special teams the rest of their time with the program.

Have LSU fans been doing this for the past 5 years? My uncle played on the Michigan State 1966 national title team with 4 of the top 8 draft picks and talks way less about them than LSU fans POST about their 2019 team they watched on TV. And you know how old timers reminisce about the good old days…this is a whole other level.
I was raised that if you’re the best, you don’t gotta tell everyone you are, bc they already know.
