Have LSU fans been doing this for the past 5 years? My uncle played on the Michigan State 1966 national title team with 4 of the top 8 draft picks and talks way less about them than LSU fans POST about their 2019 team they watched on TV. And you know how old timers reminisce about the good old days…this is a whole other level.

I was raised that if you’re the best, you don’t gotta tell everyone you are, bc they already know.
Here’s the problem with the argument that the BIG only had 12/18 bowl eligible teams. They play a 9 not 8 game league schedule. Half their teams are guaranteed an extra conference loss.

The BIG had 3, 5-7 teams. In an 8 game schedule like the SEC, take away the extra conference game and replace it with a cupcake and they very well could have had 15/18 bowl teams. Apples to Apples.

Also, the BIG mandates a nonconference p4 opponent. BIG teams play 10 p4 games minimum while a team like Ole Miss has I believe 8 scheduled in 2025. Could be wrong, but I thought I saw a pretty pathetic nonconference schedule for them.

The SEC teams play “stronger schedules” is a myth based on the number of p4 teams I mentioned above and possibly by elevated SEC teams’ preseason rankings as well.

I only addressed this bc I’ve seen this argument multiple times since stumbling on this board after the Osu/tenn game to see the meltdown.
