wellness center named after who?
He means Sen. Strom Thurmond, 1947 Clemson graduate.
The same Clemson graduate that was sadly once our Governor, and has no business having his name on our wellness center.
You can read more about him below in this article from 2013 where graduates were begging Clemson to rename the Strom Thurmond Institute from Clemson University.
Clemson- Stop honoring Strom

I can't understand this mentality for the life of me. The man gave $10,000 personally for the Wellness Center's construction and was a key fundraiser for it. Beyond that, Strom won a Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service in WW2. He was governor of SC and served in the United States Senate for half a century. His daughter was a USC student when she was killed by a drunk driver and his son Strom Jr. is a dual alumnus.

He was known for being a segregationist and being against civil rights. He doesn’t deserve to have a building named after him.

MLK was a philanderer, an alleged rapist and a homophobe. He doesn't deserve to have a building named after him. See how that works?

MLK stood for equal rights for all - even if he wasn’t a perfect man.
Thurmond stood for inequality and state-enforced suppression of African American rights.
I don’t think you are actually a libertarian. Thurmond was the antithesis to libertarians’ core ideology. I think we both know why you feel the need to stand up for him. I’m gonna bow out now, since there’s no use arguing with you because you’ve made it clear where you stand.

Thank you for proving my entire point. You think because I don't believe Thurmond's name should be removed from the Wellness Center, I agree with all of his views. That is not the case. I can recognize his importance to the state and the construction of the building itself without agreeing with him.
On the other hand, what you desire is a purity test for all buildings, statues and monuments. If the namesake of said building does not conform to your specific political ideology, it must be destroyed. That is cultural fascism disguised by identitarian semantics.

I think this says more about Clemson students than OP
