Clemson football ever again if they join the SEC.

No means no. Clemson is more than football. Our university's academic standards alone is reason enough to tell the "win football games at all costs" SEC to take their offer and stick it where the sun don't shine.

Can I hear an Amen! Preach it brother!

Let's turn this around. What has being in the SEC really done for SC? Maybe the biggest feat is attending the programs first EVER bowl game in 1995. (Of course there are over 30 bowls now so even Scar can get into a bowl now).

The bigger and richer the SEC get, the top football programs such as Bama, LSU, UGa, Florida and maybe the SWC schools will benefit. Everyone else is a homecoming game for the top school....Oh yeah..You get the rights to root for the SEC teams that are the winners.

Clemson doesn’t have a win at all cost mindset?

Keep dreaming that the SEC offered you bud.

In 2019:

SEC brought in 720M (45 per school)

ACC brought in 455M (27-34 per school)

Gap is about to lengthen. Per school as well. I’ve seen projection of 60M per school and 1.3 Billion total revenue.

No way Clemson keeps up with NIL branding when they are on ESPNU half the time playing NC State. More SEC games taking up primetime slots.

You may beat SC on the field but they are going to leave you behind financially as well.

If all of this is true, then why when the news broke last week of the Texas/Ok deal, was 1/2 of taternet clamoring on how they could also join the SEC?

Clemson knows they're on a sinking ship. They're just going to be the last rat to jump...

Well, that really is what it's all about. Chicken Tech can brag about the SEC money and we'll keep filling our trophy case.

I didn't write it...FWIW it was the no means no part of it that I liked but you can have that little win if it makes you feel better. Put that in your football trophy case.

News flash. You can delete parts of posts that you quote that you don't agree with. You did not do that. Therefore, we are free to deduce that you agreed with the part I highlighted, even if you did not write it. Logic 101.

You really should have gotten more for your money with you Clempson education...

Obviously that means a lot to you which I guess even the smallest of victories is meaningful to a UofSC fan. It's okay. I'm fine.

So Clemson wants to pull a Texas on the ACC.

They could have done that already back in 2011 when the conferences realigned and they didn't do it. The BIG 12 was talking to them and Florida State...That would have really hosed the ACC. It would probably be the P5 conference falling apart, instead of, the Big 12...

Clemson is staying in the ACC because ESPN has a vested interest in the ACC contract and ACC Network having value. The Big-12 is dead because ESPN had a vested interest in not having to pay significantly more money just to televise OU and UT some when they could shepherd them to the SEC and have them all the time.

What's the GOR for the SEC conference, or is there no such covenant given that no team would consider defecting?

Pretty much. No GOR with the conference, all media income distributed equally, no penalty for leaving. None of that "Tier" crap either. All or nothing, take it or leave it.

Well said. It is absolutely what matters. As for the rest of the big bad SEC, you will all be seeing the fleabag Georgia program with their tails between there legs in just 29 days. Tick. Tock. Oh, and Jimmy Skalski says hey.
