Hillcrest is a good school. I was a Mauldin for a while before I left you were probably an elementary school then but I knew a lot of people that worked at Hillcrest at one time. Still know some there but not as many

It's crazy how many Clemson fans are lurking around Tigerdroppings.

I don't blame you though. Tigernet makes my eyes hurt.

I relate to you potatoes most of the time. Except when you guys start posting Bible verses on Facebook about why God is helping Clemson win. Haha

You guys took the name from a f***ing desert rock.

Nope.

The name "Death Valley" was first used by the head coach of Presbyterian College, whom we used to play for our home opener every season back then. It was a reference to the fact that our stadium is built into a natural ravine & that his teams usually lost to us by a lopsided margin. Frank Howard liked the moniker & decided to run with it. We've used it as a nickname for Memorial Stadium since at least the late 1940s.

The rock came from Death Valley, California, in the mid 1960s.

I found a bottle of Blanton's in Seneca, SC when we played Clemson this year. The proprietor of the establishment was very proud of his dba for his liquor stores, whom service the suites at Clemson's stadium: White Trash, Inc.

That's about all you need to know to accurately depict the area.

i can see why you are motivated to trash Clemson if you came all the way from Texas to watch that game.

Hey I'm from the upstate and I'm an upstanding Gamecock, also very well and upstanding member of society I take offense to that preface it with, "Upstate Orange wearing hicks in South Carolina is full of red necks and don't even realize it."

Funny thing is he’s from Simpsonville. Now I live near Simpsonville and there are some nice parts there. He lives in Spartanburg and I grew up there and there are some good areas of Spartanburg as well. But it’s not like this guy is from Daniel Island in Charleston.

He seems like a decent guy just got a little carried away. It happens. Got no problem with him

I’m trying to figure this guy out. He’s an upstate native who left Clemson to go to USC Upstate( there are some valid reasons for that) to major in History. Still lives here but acts like the place is awful. Has he ever been to Louisiana? Or is he just jumping on the LSU train? If it’s so bad here why don’t he leave?

We live in the South all states have pockets of little hick towns.

And I when I asked has he been to Louisiana I meant that as no disrespect. I am in Louisiana at least once a year. Great hunting and fishing. Enjoy my time there and the people I meet. Was just trying to figure out his angle.

Sounds like Georgetown.

BTR is a nicer/larger version of Georgetown, SC with refineries taking place of the paper mills.

Lake Kiawah is right by Clemson and is beautiful. The towns that surround Clemson are as redneck as any other town in the south.

Makes no difference! Clemson’s mascot looks methed out and LSU has real Tiger that lives better than 70% of South Carolinians.

My career has zero to do with history. My wife and I both have great jobs in healthcare, and technology engineering.

We are in a high tax bracket.

I mean the fact that I've been on an LSU website since 2007 should show you I didn't just jump on a LSU train.

It's hard to leave an area you have family, in laws, careers, etc.

I sat through all the frustrating Miles years as a faithful fan.

Well I understand about family and in laws and wanting to stay close. I believe you if you say you have been a long time LSU guy. Just find it odd you actually are from Simpsonville and picked Clemson when you knew it was a small town. Should have just gone to Upstate from the get go. It’s a fine school as is the USC system. My wife was an adjunct in the school of nursing for a while there. No big deal

There's nothing personal here. DannyFord was trolling at a high clip.

I thought to myself, "I'm not going to let some Clemson fan out troll us on our home turf." and I had the inside scoop to do it effectively judging by the 8 page thread.
