what personnel and scheme related changes are they talking about on the plains?
Replacing the entire defensive unit with members of the Tigerettes and having Oregon's cheerleader coach coach them. At least then there would be something to, if nothing else, distract the offense into making bad plays.

I agree. He has shown great improvements I think he will perform at a high level all year

Someone settle this debate once and for all. What was Gene Chizik's role last year, and what is his role this year? I am referring to on the field matters.

They better drop the soft zone and take their chances with being aggressive and playing some press coverage. They have too many young guys starting to play a zone all the time. Their DL doesn't appear to be good enough to get pressure without blitzing either, which certainly does you no good if you want to sit back in a zone. Any decent QB is going to pick apart a zone if he has all day to throw.

Where's the proof? Everyone outside of your program sees Chizik as an average head coach, including the rest of the coaches of the SEC. There is no doubt he is a great coordinator. He proved that. Ask anyone outside of the program who was responsible for last year and the answers you get are always the same: Cam, Fairley, Malzahn.
As a head coach, Chizik was 5-19 at Iowa State. And excluding last season with two flash in the pan, all-time great, Juco players, he is 9-5 starting off the season barely beating Utah State.
If he is such a great HC, why the hell has it taken him 3 years to figure out that he actually needs to coach the defense rather than just delegate this duty to Roof. He doesn't coach the defense and he doesn't coach the offense, so what has he really done in the last three years?

Clap his hands, keep Troopers towel warm between swings, and clean off Gus's glasses when they fog up.

No one honestly knows. Speculation is all we got. I don't feel like speculating, so someone else can do it if they want

Our dbs did a bad job jamming the wrs on the few occasions we were in bump and run coverage.

EXACTLY. I have been asking this question for three days and have yet to get a legitimate answer from any AU fan. Not a single person has come up with a plausible explanation to what CGC actually contributes to the team.

If Holland can't prove he can get the D lined up right playing base D, Chiz and Roof aren't going to turn him loose to call more complex defenses. Simple as that. Holland didn't have the D line up correctly on many occasions last game.

This x 1000
Their only chance with an inexperienced secondary is to try to rush the QB into bad throws that they can take advantage of because they arent going to be making very many big plays on their own.

You're right. AU sucks and so does everyone associated. We get it. Why do you keep saying it and flaming?

You've got to be shitting me. So the guy is a great coach, but no one knows what he does? If that is the case, when opposing fans give credit for last year to Cam, Fairley, and Gus...how do you discredit that?
