Were you posting 10-15 years ago when there were a half dozen college sports sites on the interwebs? You wanna know why SECRant is the only site like it left?
Clicks! heavily moderated boards die because they don’t get clicks. They drive off the interesting members with too much moderating or perceived bias, or just schisms over moderating.
This cesspool survives because it has conversations without over moderating. It has some very hard lines but on the other side of those lines it’s pretty free.

This is not designed to change SEC Rant. It’s designed for an individual subsection.
I don’t go to the Politics board because I’m not interested in the content. People who aren’t interested in talking ball don’t have to go to the Discussion board if they don’t want to. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.
It’s an option. Chicken would have everything he already has PLUS the board.
This is not designed to change SEC Rant. It’s designed for an individual subsection.

The only mod I know is Chicken. I changed my opinion of Smokeyone's post. And Lewdog's.
What I don't get is why the mods are opposed to adding a bonus feature that would not detract from the site's traffic and revenue at all. Quite the opposite, in fact.

I wouldn't mind doing that.
I would also not mind starting my own forum in a few years and using my MBA to make it the best football-discussion website on the Web if there is no such thing between now and then, which there isn't. Not really.

Recently there was a poster here who broke away and formed a site like you’re talking about thinking everyone would gravitate to it for serious discussion. Last I checked it pretty dead with not much traffic at all. Just a heads up.

I still want the board and don't understand why Chicken wouldn't add it, but I'm not going to fight for it anymore. I'll glean what football talk I can from the site.

They added a Coaching Changes board. Why can't they add a Football board?
The purpose of the Coaching Changes board is to keep the 3000 duplicate topics about coaching search rumors it's own place, instead of opening the SECRant and it's nothing but coaching rumor shitposts.
It's the reason there's a Scoreboard forum opened on Saturdays, so the thousands and thousands of shitposts have their own place, not the SEC Rant.
And just so you know, the whole purpose of the SEC Rant is to keep all of the riff raff OFF the tigerdroppings boards. The SEC Rant, itself, is a placeholder wastebasket of shite.
