Winning all of the NY6 is the real blue blood deal and I’m not sure Alabama has even done it despite being a rare SEC Rose Bowl winner from even before the BCS days.

They’ve avoided the Fiesta Bowl when available as a semi. Pretty sure they never played in the Fiesta during the BCS. Think they lost a Fiesta Bowl back when it was a lower tier bowl in the early 90s.

With Vandy excluded, first guess is A&M

That's because to you football didn't exist until 2000.

A&M won the Dixie Classic/Cotton Bowl in 1922, 1941, 1968, 1986, 1988 and 2013, the Sugar Bowl in 1940, and the Peach Bowl in 2013.

I don't know who this thread is trolling but the Peach wasn't a major bowl until the 2014 season and the Cotton wasn't a major bowl 1995-2013 seasons.

It was the 90 season. The Fiesta was major by then but because the state of Arizona didn't wanna make MLK Day a holiday a bunch of top ranked teams boycotted it (FSU and Pedo St played in the Blockbuster Bowl instead). So it was unranked 7-4 Bama against barely ranked Louisville.

Orange Bowl - 9 appearances (5-4 record)

Rose Bowl - 7 appearances (5-1-1 record)

Sugar Bowl - 16 appearances (9-7 record)

Peach Bowl - 1 appearance (1-0 record)

Fiesta Bowl - 1 appearance (0-1 record)

For UF:

Cotton: 0-1 (as a major bowl)
Orange: 66 W, 98 W, 01 W, 19 W
Rose: never (blew it in 28 and 01)
Sugar: 3-6
Peach: 1-0 (as a major bowl)
Fiesta: 0-1 (would've been 06 but that's when the bcs title game started)

Mizzou has been to:

4 Orange
3 Cotton
3 Sugar
1 Fiesta

Don't even know how we would have gone to a Rose Bowl or a Peach Bowl being in the Big 12 and prior to the CFP

That's BS. It has been a major along with the Sugar, Orange, and Rose Bowls since I can remember, and that was at least the early 1960s. I'm certain it was well before that too. Fwiw, those 4 were the only games on New Years day until about the 1980s.

Vandy made the 1974 Peach Bowl v Texas Tech.

It ended in a 6-6 tie. So eff it. Good enough in my book.

As for Kentucky, we've been to and won all 3 of those bowls.

Yea, when Bryant and Rupp were UK's basketball and football coaches I suspect that is the all time greatest pair that has graced any campus at the same time ever. Of course, as I understand it, those two couldn't stand each other because they were too much alike. The whole state of Kentucky wasn't big enough for two egos that big to exist in at the same time, so one had to go.

No, it isn’t BS. His timeline is a little off, but from the time the SWC folded until the Cotton Bowl got on board with the BCS it became a second tier bowl much like the Peach used to be. For a while one of the tie-in teams was from the freaking Western Athletic Conference. If you had a WAC tie in in the 1990s (think Mountain West today), there’s no world where you could be considered a top tier bowl. Later on they got division runner up SEC teams - again like the Peach used to do.

Around 2010 they moved to JerryWorld and became part of the playoffs, thus rejoining the major bowl world.
