I don't "hate" baseball...
But softball has a lot more action.
An example...
In softball an infielder (esp. on the left side) better get the ball off to first in short order on any ground ball play.
Unlike baseball where a shortstop can field the ball, have time to scratch his nuts, take a couple of steps and then toss the ball over to first.. and still get the runner by three steps.
Another example...
In baseball... when a player hits a fly ball into the outfield... you can pretty much tell if the fielder can "get there" to make a play most of the time.
In softball...because of the way a softball carries... outfielders make great plays by getting to balls that look sure as the world like they are going to drop for a hit. Happens way more often than in baseball.

I think one reason men's fastpitch softball died off is that good pitchers were almost untouchable. The girls thankfully dont have this problem. Though I prefer baseball for nostalgic reasons, the pace of softball is far superior. That and women's tennis are only women's sports ill watch

Softball is the only women’s sport that I can watch. They’re all happy constantly they never let a teammate get down on themselves. Sport moves fast, I’ve watched multiple games that ended in an hour.

Softball is great because it's the only sport where they took a men's game and adapted it to fit women. You also don't watch it and inherently compare it to the men's version (like in basketball), because there isn't a men's version.
