Since the AP doesn’t ultimately matter, it makes more since to vote “most deserving at that point in the season,” imo. Gonzaga should be around 5 or 6, but they will probably be 1.

I know Gonzaga is legit, but No. 1 legit? I don't think so. Maybe No. 5 based on SOS. And the rest of that conference is s***. Compare that conference with any other major hoops conference, and it doesn't even come close. Not with the SEC, B1G, Big 12, ACC, or the Big East or AAC for that matter. They should never be ranked No. 1 for beating up on that conference. Any number of schools from the other conferences I mentioned could do the same.
