Thanks to Tennstud names, amounts and places came out pretty quickly in the Means case. Almost a year in and all we have is the $180,000 solicitation talks with MSU and nothing more. Show me 1 link from any national or local media outlet(capstone report doesn't count) that even accuses Auburn or MSU of paying the Newtons any money.

And no paper trail, no direct evidence. Only secret testimony (which broke NCAA Bylaws) and the word of alot of people. As I said, federal testimony revealed other schools provided cash to Means' H.S. coaches and they were never investigated.

And an active investigation by the NCAA into Auburn recruiting, former players saying they were paid, national media implying that something is simmering. Yall are tying everything to Cam and only Cam. Yall aren't looking at the bigger picture and I have a feeling will be blindsided by something else.

It's a long drawn out process ~ and the NCAA is so overworked and understaffed right now that it may take a year to even get to the bottom of the Oregon & OSU cases.....

This is part of the problem. They certainly have the financial resources to hire more. The issue with less staff becomes some things that should be uncovered don't get uncovered and other times - as will be the case with both OSU & Oregon, IMHO - they hammer what is at the surface and don't dig deep enough to find more.

There is a school of thought that the NCAA knows how dirty it is and doesn't want more staff b/c they are afraid of what they would find and how wide spread it is.

I'm with the guy that said that sounds a lot less damaging when you hear him say it then it does in print.

There were still specific allegations against Dubose and Co where in the Newton case all that is out there is a solicitation with another school without even an accusation of Auburn paying the Newtons.

This thread is about Charles Robinson mentioning Cam Newton and Auburn. I'm not worried about the HBO4 at all. Walt Williams/Arkansas not worried. S Florida not worried at this moment. Sean Nelson a little worried but that is for another day and another thread.

THEN LOOK AT IT !

A buddy emailed me this link. Mostly about the Oregon story. However, in last minute he is asked "Whose appearance gets removed from BCS title game first, Oregon or Cam Newton & Auburn?" Robinson talks about process for a few seconds, confirms AU is currently being investigated, and then answers.... "Flip a coin"

So why would they be trying to get to the bottom of the Ohio State and Oregon cases before they do Auburn. It seems to me that since they have already been working on Auburn for just under a year they would probably want to wrap that one up first.

While you're checking off your list, you got any concern over Antron Wright ~ Trooper's bud in So Fla?

Well damn Don ~ Not long after the Newton shite hit the fan along came the HBO4 ~ Then the street agent fiasco. It's on-going and on-going with y'all.

Just when the NCAA thinks they're out, Auburn pulls them back in.....

Yea, but you said they were so understaffed with the Ohio State and Oregon cases that it could be a long time before they get Auburn. It just seems to me that they would be working more on Auburn than the others, since there is so much there to work with.

Old news. He was investigated back in 05 when Trooper was at UT and nothing came of it. I read an old article to refresh my memory and it seems like Trooper isn't the only person who has used him as a contact.

Wright said he has dealt with coaches such as Rutgers' Greg Schiano, Colorado State's Sonny Lubick, South Carolina's retired Lou Holtz, Auburn's Tommy Tuberville, former LSU and current Dolphins head coach Nick Saban -- among others.

The NCAA didn't get to the bottom of it the media did. The NCAA couldn't find a 12 lb pussy if it was staring them in the face.
