I think this could be just the challenge Saban needs to somehow get him back in the NFL (if he wanted to do that again).

He would def yield a championship caliber team with Alabama and Auburn players who didnt make the cut in the NFL.

Interest would peek in AAF and fans would come out to see said team.

What do you think?

Man, Saban really did a number on you guys didn't he. First he wouldn't be here long, then he can't win, now its the Refs/Bham office and this. You guys really need mental help. You are entertaining but help is needed.

The chances of that are worse than the odds of one of your basketball threads not biting you in the arse

Saban has done a fricking number on the mental stability of the entire conference.

Yep, definitely feasible... you know, if Saban wants to take a massive pay cut, have almost no control over his roster, watch any decent talent that he has get poached by the NFL on a whim, be able to hear himself think on the sidelines, and not have to worry as much about the K position. It could happen

Can’t hack it in the pros

He would be coaching a lot of his former players who flames out of the NFL though

Idk

If Saban did take a coaching gig in the AAF it gives the league instant credibility.

Saban would have been a good NFL coach had he stayed

Zero chance. While great in college he is a bust in the NFL.

I didn’t believe this had a chance in hell of occurring until I got to this part of your post. Now it seems totally plausible to me. The AAF is the football league Saban has been preparing for his entire career.

Well he's got the best coaching job in America. Particularly for him. One that fills his need to compete and fulfills his need to pursue his passion for auto's. He grew up working on cars at his dad's service station and his dream was to be an auto dealer. Not a ball coach. So there sits the American arm of Mercedes Benz in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and they are supporters of the Alabama football program.

MB has accommodated Saban by putting him in ownership positions of multiple dealerships. And will put him in more should he choose that route once he retires from ball. He and especially his wife hate the city. They are from West by God Virginia and live in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains in one of the most picturesque spots on earth on a gorgeous lake which is exactly what they dreamed of. For better or worse N. Saban is retiring from coaching at Alabama which I think will happen after the 2022 season. Maybe even after 2021. Although he may see what has happened with others and stay on a while. He has told people he is not going to be a hanger on like some who stayed too long (B. Bowden, Bill Snyder).

Saban was at the Birmingham game. He was checking out the ambiance in the press box.
You didn’t see him did you? He was the short dude in blackface standing behind Eli Golden.
