Thoughts: LSU fans have become a shell of their former selves. A fanbase once known for its confidence, intensity, and belief now seems consumed by doubt, overreaction, and constant hand wringing at the first sign of adversity.

The conference has a problem on their hands because if they stand up against this issue, they're going to have to address why they allow TRO's that circumvent NCAA rules in some cases, but not others.

My thoughts are that you have the outcomes you have in both cases because the NCAA handles people in the same groups (redshirts, 2022 class mates) differently, but not for reasons that have strong rational basis. Thus the NCAA looks like it made arbitrary decisions, and thus it loses.

Maybe. Not to give the NCAA too much credit, because it's hard to see them do anything strategically, but if you knew this was likely to launch some lawsuits right about the start of the season (because of NFL team cuts), it might provide steam for them to get the Protect College Sports Act they want so badly done before the midterm fruit basket turnover we're about to get.
I don't want to give them too much credit, but if you wanted to show this thing was out of control and Congress just has to do something!, then this would be just what the doctor ordered.
