What now?

KU was good in 2007

That's a bunch of mediocre teams that DO NOT deserve an automatic bid to the playoffs. Maybe they deserve a play in game vs Sunblet champion.

Utah, K State, Ok St and Arizona will all have solid teams.

K State barely lost to Missouri (3 points) in overtime.
Missouri is arguably the SEC's 3rd best team in 2023.

Rising coming back for Utah should give them a solid chance to win games.

Maybe LOADED but not experienced enough to step in to start right away would be my guess. Brian Kelly choked another big game. Tell me this isn't what LSU fans wanted when LSU hired him to be the next LSU HC. You are forgetting the key to being a top 10 team is having 4* and 5* talents on the field during the game. Haven't you seen what Alabama did to Kansas State in a bowl game not too long ago? Also, Georgia beating FSU last year was bad enough to stop hyping up some teams that don't have the talents to compete with those that have the talents to win championships then the next step is coaching. One example of a team that does less with more is Texas A&M. But since Fisher is gone, I think the team will compete for championships but not this year. The other team I see is LSU. Brian Kelly just can't get it done no matter how much talent his team has. Talent gap is real!

Any SEC or Big 10 team that goes 10-2 is a lock for the playoff so just make sure you go 10-2 or better and you are in.

What would make you think that? You finished 7th in AP behind
#1 LSU ((consensus national champs - not even arguable)
#2 Georgia
and even…wait for it:
Lowly #4 Missouri who beat you head to head in the regular season.

I like OK St, but UGA is going to beat the brakes off any of those teams in the playoffs. (assuming we stay somewhat healthy, of course.)

This is the CFP bracket using the current preseason Coaches Poll.

That’s not right. Alabama is #5 in the coaches preseason poll and 7 seed in the “projected playoff”

I can easily see a 2 loss top ten SEC team who is shining for the playoff going to the SECCG and losing. Then getting left out of the playoff for a team they beat in the regular season wonder go to the SECCG

That's why they play the games.

If Mizzou ends up 10-2 with losses at A&M and Bama - they will be fine.

More likely is 11-1 Mizzou. Likely top 5 at that point. Thank you for the concern.

Kansas would have won that CFP lineup easily. missouri would just gag like they did against OU with a spot on the line.

Lowly missouri

Agreed

Ok. I get it you told a joke so now I have to tell one. Let me think a minute…

I got one. Not original but relevant in that it was widely circulated when KU was good once.

Direction seeker: How do you get to 435? (Interstate circling KCMO)
KU fan: Just follow the Mangino diet.

Ok…you next. And please don’t tell that tired old joke that you are a top 25 team for 2024, although it is awfully funny

It is right. Florida State and Utah were ranked lower than Bama, but they get top 4 seeds by being major conference champs. That moves Bam down 2 slots from #5 to #7
