CFB starting in October wouldn't be so bad

Obviously this is premature, and I'm not even sure if the logistics would be possible with all the other sports. But a season starting in October could be nice. The early games wouldn't be so hot and the season wouldn't end until late January.

Can you imagine games in Minnesota and Michigan in December and January? Would be miserable. Doesn’t matter as much down south, but can get cold.

It would suck.
I love those late summer football games.

They play NFL games in freezing weather. Us Southerners put up with insane heat, the northerners can deal with the cold.

If they started that late it would probably have to be a conference schedule only. I doubt they would do that but who knows the way things are now. I'm worried there won't be a season at all.

I mean, at this point whatever it takes to get the season in. If there's any truth to the rumors, I don't like the idea that they feel pressured into making a decision on the matter so prematurely. We have no idea where we're going to be in 4 months.

You must not like seeing hot co-eds in summer dresses at the start of the football season.

The logistics of a football season are immense and can’t be arranged at the last minute or a couple months before the season. If they are feeling pressure this early on, it’s pressure to postpone the season imho

But everybody knows conf. games are not back to back. Hell, UGA/SC/UF all end the season against their in-state rival. Nothing like beating the GnaTs in COFH @ Thanksgiving.

Better to have a shortened season than no season at all look at it this way!

I’m ok with not having 2:30 games in Tiger Stadium in September
Those are frickin brutal

Even better WITH WLOCP, DSOR, & COFH EVERY season!!!

Really the only problem would be with neutral site games. The campus stadiums can be used anytime, just move all the games down a month (having games in December would not be so bad.) Now the bowl games might be screwed, but I doubt playoffs would be. Final game is in Miami, and the Rose and Sugar are the Semi-finals

Have you not watched miami in bowl games when it’s 50? Those southern boys don’t like the chills

Start in October. Cut the schedule down to 8 games.
That could work.
Or just cx 2020 completely and roll everything back one year. That would be the most straight forward simple thing to do. Everybody’s eligibility just resets one year back in 2021 based on what it was in 2020.
To me that would be the prudent thing to do.

That is only for south Florida teams. Most football players in the south play in cold weather for part of the year. Not snow, but there is a reason why high school stadiums in the south serve hot chocolate.
