2 minute warning is the dumbest thing. It dates back to when there were not clocks, but there are clocks everywhere now.

If they're going to make it NFL-lite...Just shut it down.

The Vols offense will be even faster if this happens. If you thought there offense was fast already, just imagine taking 3-5 seconds off that just by adding helmet communication!

From what I heard during bowl season, the helmet communication was active throughout the entire play, so the coaches could basically tell the QB what to do during the play and who to throw to and where players were. At least in NFL it cuts out with 15 seconds on the playclock or when the ball is snapped.

This is correct.

Also the defense has a guy with helmet comms too. So getting input defensively as well the entire time

Heupel indicated that he probably would not use it, thinks it would slow the offense if the other players have to wait for the qb to receive and relay the play as opposed to what they do now on the sideline

The curtains behind coaches deters from the viewing experience. Good move, plus harbaugh types lose too

2-minute warning

The 2-minute warning is an artifact left over from when refs kept time with a watch and there was no scoreboard. I understand why the NFL has kept it, but it does not belong in CFB because the original purpose of it no longer exists and it has never existed in CFB.

I will die on this fricking hill.

It needs to go away in the NFL, too.

I disagree with this to a small degree.

The clock changes made last off-season made it so there was less of a chance for teams who were behind to come back as the clock kept running a lot more.

Adding a stoppage like the 2-minute warning walks that back a little bit. Having more of a chance for a comeback in college football isn't a bad thing.

20 years ago I would have said nothing would kill CFB but lately I am beginning to think eventually they are going to run fans off. Less people care now. Less diehards

CFB set ratings records consistently last season. Plenty of people still care. The college game had become very regional, networks would rather it be more nationally focused. The pageantry gets lost to some degree but the goal is to provide more premier games across the entire schedule. We don’t need to ever see LSU v Grambling or Bama v UL Monroe.
