Every county in the US is assigned to a school based on geography (a county is assigned to the school that it is closest to).
As games progress, when team A beats team B, team A gets team B's land.

WTF is going on in North Carolina

If I were to see this map and know nothing of college football and team's records I would guess the CFB Playoff would be between Southern Cal, Alabama, Iowa, & Miami with West Virginia & Georgia next in line.

I, for one, welcome our Hawkeye overlords.

Then for example, where is Auburn's land after winning at A&M?

Nice to see no more scarlet and grey. Iowa is still pounding that arse.

You don't get land back Week to week.
Auburn nor A&M had any land to begin the weekend. No land to lose, no land to win. It's the case every week for many teams.
Our only chance at land the past 5 weeks has been UGA on Saturday. As it stands now there's none to gain unless Clemson gains some, because they lost theirs to Syracuse (who lost it to Miami)

That's a false comparison... because MsState would have recovered some territory the past couple of weeks and we aren't even on the dam map.

Its week 10 and people still don't understand this map.

State lost its land to Georgia. Since then you beat BYU who lost its land LSU, UK who lost its land to UF, A&M who lost its land to UCLA, & U MASS who lost its land to Hawaii. Since then all of those team's landed has been passed around like a bottle of crown.

It does. You just can't seem to comprehend it.

I laugh at how people over think this simple game. Thanks for posting it every week, but I bet you get tired of explaining it over and over again.

I hope Iowa wins out and we take them out in a bowl game and finish the year controlling half the country.

That is what makes this game fun. Even if your team has a few losses, you are never really out of it.
