Regardless - Cecil needs to just keep his yaw shut - all it does is create buzz - if he truly wants to let it settle - he needs to stay out of the lime light, as much as possible, and keep quiet.
interviews like this will do nothing more than create a feeding frenzy for the bottom dwellers in the media - IE Finebaum, SbB and others.
I agree 100%, but that will not happen... He is a preacher; preachers preach...

Just let this die, you're arguing with a flamer, it's pointless. Cecil's comments will always be ambiguous, it's something Auburn just has to accept and be glad he's gone

See thats what i never understood about the whole situation, cecil and cam would never come out and say no, they would just kinda find away around the subject, idk why they cant just own up and say yes or no.
Now the haters and the bammers will have to say the NCAA lying. Kind of puts a hole in their credibility, smart move by Cecil.

You take the good with the bad.
And Cam Newton's play > Cecil being a dumb-arse

As to MSU, being asked by somebody to provide money for play is not a fault of a university unless they agree to it. That fault belongs to the one asking.
And how do you know it wasn't Rogers who brought the whole plan to Cecil??
I still believe Newton would of went to MSU had Kenny Rogers not tried to make a buck off of him.

Remember there is a loophole, the NCAA does NOT have a rule against solicitation... Maybe that is part of it.
They most certainly do. The loophole lies in the actual player having knowledge.

From what I heard it wouldn't of mattered if Cam knew or not. If no money changed hands he is not ineligible.

Thanks you fricking dildo. Appreciate it.

Dude's a preacher and you can't even believe what he says. He must not be familiar with the book of John. The "truth shall set you free" Cecil.

Then why would the NCAA allow this to be said by one of it's own?

NCAA spokesperson Stacey Osburn told The Birmingham News by email that "the solicitation of cash or benefits by a prospective student-athlete or another individual on his or her behalf is not allowed under NCAA rules."

Not true..direcly from Mike Slive: if no AGREEMENT for $ to change hands was made...not that it makes any difference here. I am still nearly certain that Auburn or a booster didn't buy Cam. But I am less certain today than I was yesterday that Cecil didn't talk to AU about $. Why would you answer in that "plausible deniability" manner if it didn't happen? He sounded like Mark McGuire talking to congress about steroid use. I wouldn't preferred the Rafael Palmeiro approach.

Dunno....I believe it was the lawyer Donald Jackson who said it wouldn't of mattered on the Finebaum show.

He said the NCAA has the truth. The NCAA has already said they have not found where AU paid Newton anything. A=B B=C A=C do the math.
That wasn't the question. The question was, "did you solicit money from AU?". Pretty fukn simple question right? Cause there's only two answers: yes or no.

The NCAA already said that Cam Newton could have known he was being shopped, but it wouldn't have mattered. They said that is not a violation.
