Might be a little bit of premature ebraklation. We still haven't played Florida or Kentucky or aTm yet.

Auburn has had an unbelievable season but.........their best wins are MTSU, @ Tennessee, and Arkansas.

Duke, Virginia, Arizona, Villanova, Purdue, etc are a different monster at this point. Doesn't mean Auburn couldn't hang tough, but they haven't beaten (or really played) an elite team yet.

They should be 23-2 and 11-1 in the SEC when Kentucky comes to town in February to start a tough stretch run (#13 UK, @ #53 USCe, #29 Bama, @ #36 Florida, @ #22 Arky).

Agreed. We should be ranked around #10 and either a 2 or 3 seed if the season ended today. I don't think we will be able to beat the top teams with really good bigs (Duke, Purdue, Arizona, etc)

I just don't know - it would be interesting to see. An Auburn/Duke game would easily be in the 92-88 range. Would be a lot of fun.

I haven't watched them a ton, but I saw enough against us and in other games to say that when Arizona is playing well they are terrifying. Ayton is not human. A man that big should not be able to do the things he does. They are 15-1 since they got back from the Bahamas and just annihilating people.

And there are 67 other teams that will make the list on selection Sunday too that have a chance!

I think Auburn can hang with Duke, Baggley is beast down low but you can neutralize him by involving him the pick and rolls on defense.

A lot will depend on matchups. As much as I like Mclemore, he is 6'7 and would have no chance against Arizona, Duke, Kansas bigs or A&M bigs for that matter. We have not played an elite team yet but we have played 13 group 1/2 games and destroyed most of them.

Yea - you'd clearly have to try and gameplan that.

Would be fun to watch though.

We are stretching out Mclemore and Murray to bring bigs away from basketball. They both shooting a respectable 3 point% and it's allowing us to get some offensive boards. Okeke is shooting 45% from 3. Only so many adjustments you can make om defense though with a small lineup.

Is this the 1st thread ever started by AU24 that wasn't about Bama?

I think so.

And has Jerry Palm ever been right about anything?

Anyone is beatable this season imo.

Tennessee is solid, not great (Auburn is better right now) and beat Purdue and played Villanova very very tight on a neutral floor.

It’s a shame that AU didn’t play a better OOC schedule so we would have a better idea of how good they are, but I don’t think anyone except Duke (if they ever get things together) is that much better than AU. Nova and Arizona probably scare me 2nd and 3rd most though Sean Miller can’t get over the Elite 8 hump.

Idk man, but he still hasn’t provided a working link in any of them.

Quite an accomplishment.

We sure have come a long way in a short period of time. Going into the season I just wanted to avoid playing on the 1st day of the SEC tourney.
