I agree it was not targeting, but guess what, refs miss calls going both ways, and even Alabama has had its share.

Those guys are acting like the viciousness of the hit has anything to do with the rule

Let me preface this by saying the entire rule and general concept of targeting is fricking retarded.
That being said, White’s hot does technically meet the definition of targeting. The fact that he shoved him in the chest first IS NOT RELEVANT with regards to the rule. He made upward, forceful contact to the head of neck regionof a defenseless player (a QB in the act of passing the ball). It suvks, it should be changed, but that is technically targeting and an example of why the rule sucks.
