Good guess. I think you're correct.

You are asking fans that wanted Stetson Bennett benched.

with a questionable arm Just an ignorant statement.

What has he shown that tells you he has atleast a good college arm? Does he have tape of him making right window throws? High school arm is fine but nothing in his 2 years on campus has answered arm questions. Hence the questionable instead of limited arm. He is going to be a runner this game and likely next season first with the idea to run people open in Bono’s short passing game.

Next man up.

Injuries are part of football. Coaches deal with it by recruiting enough talent that an injury or two does not derail the season.

We've got plenty of talent at QB. If UGA fails in the playoff it won't be because Beck is hurt. That would just be a weak excuse. We're not Bama... we don't make injury excuses for losing a game.

Many in the program say he has the overall strongest arm or did before Pug arrived. Beck has the most polished arm but a low release.

An upgrade? A guy with no game experience, with a questionable arm that doesn’t have the WRs or RBs to help him?

He's an upgrade in talent. Not in experience. We don't know in terms of the less measurable things like if "he's a gamer".

The reality is this is the 247 talent composite for each UGA QB since JT Daniels went down:

Stetson Bennett: 2-star. .7833 composite rating. Ranked 2571 in his class.
Carson Beck: 4-star. .9095 rating. Ranked 254 in his class.
Gunner Stockton. 4-star. .9506 rating. Ranked 124 in his class.

Will we miss Beck's experience? It's very possible. But we aren't worried about his talent... or arm strength. Stockton has better measurables in terms of arm strength than Beck. Beck's upsides were accuracy and decision making. Stockton has a higher level of athleticism and pocket presence, along with great touch on his passes and downfield vision.

Stockton is more like a more physically gifted Stetson Bennett in terms of the "type" of player he is. Better arm. Better speed. Better athleticism. Doesn't mean he has the "it" factor Bennett developed. But he does have every measurable you want from a QB aside from height (he's only 6'1")

In terms of scouting measurables, as a high school prospect Beck was projected as a round 4-7 draft pick. Stockton was projected as a round 2-3 pick.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and just take a wild guess that if there were questions about his arm he wouldn’t be QB1 with the talent behind him. Apparently he’s answered enough “questions” the coaches satisfaction, but maybe you’re in a position to know better than they……or possibly your speaking out of ignorance as I originally opined.

I was told by the pound puppies Beck was a Heisman 1st rounder…. So Stockton is a 2nd ballot hall of famer?

Y’all are crazy. I use to think it was just DJ but damn.

I stand corrected. Who could refute “many in the program”.

This is DJ level addition by subtraction nonsense. You know that right? Kids a decent college running QB that can extend plays.

Do you have any examples of this from the past?

As I said earlier:

He might totally suck arse. He might pull a Stetson Bennett and win it all. We don't have a choice because our starter is out.

Remember how wrong you were about Bennett and Ladd? So bad.

In his limited time, gunner has made some really good plays, but obviously had a terrible INT. We need to make sure he doesn’t throw any pick 6’s, or multiple picks in a game, and we could win some more playoff games with a backup qb. We have won 3 so far. Not bad.

Not ideal but Beck did not exactly have an inspiring season. Stockton was expected to be the starter next year so he ain’t chopped liver but Beck was starting for a reason.

UGA does not rely on all American play at QB. No one currently coaching in CFB is as good in one game seasons as Kirby Smart. UGAs is tough physically and mentally. They are 4-0 against playoff teams. Most likely UGA does what UGA does and beats the shite outa everybody left standing.

Your addition by subtraction tripe? It was your totem for a decade. Every player not starting was an automatic upgrade over a multi year starter.

I was spot on with Bennett, UGA won despite him, not because of him. Dudes a drugged out scrub.

So nothing specific, though it’s perfectly reasonable to conclude some new starters can be upgrades, or at least on a similar level. It’s fitting that you disagree.

Is this you admitting Ladd is a badass?

Stats haven’t changed. They proved you wrong for both player then and still do

Georgia should sue the SEC for forcing them to play in a useless game.

Not sure what's so crazy. I literally posted the composite recruiting rankings which are what's used to measure talent these days.

Talent doesn't always lead to results. Nico has a lot of talent and has been pretty low in terms of producing results this year for example. Stetson Bennett had very little talent and got lots of results, got drafted and is a NFL backup.

Stockton has more talent than Beck as a recruit. He's got WAY less experience right now. In the one game each played a half in, they played to almost the exact same level.

Lord no. He’s a decent possession receiver. He’s averaging about 3 yards after catch but getting a ton of targets. 60 something catches on 90 something targets and a touch over 3 yards after catch… possession guy.

Highschool stats? Ok… maybe some college stats after being there a couple years would be a better option.
