Kiffin isn’t leaving
None of the OM players are going with him
None of the coaches will follow him
LSU can’t pay for both Kiffin and Kelly
OM got Frank, we will own LSU in recruiting now.

Ole Miss just let a broke program take their head coach, 20 staffers, and multiple players.
And then they hired a Louisiana drunk to run their football program.

What happened in the 5½ months to make you change your mind, other than a 13 point LSU win in the Texas Bowl?
The age gap between Kelly and Kiffin (or Drink) has always existed.

I thought the offseason prior to 2025 would basically determine Kelly's future and he didn't do enough to fix the issues. Sure, they signed a great transfer class but it was underwhelming in ways and felt reminiscent of Les Miles always promising to fix the offense yet never doing so.
It became clear that Kelly was coasting in ways and was on the extreme back end of his career. It was also apparent that he struggled with how to appropriately manage the portal/NIL system.
On paper, I think they're pretty similar so I can't guarantee that Kiffin will be drastically better. In fact, LSU may have a worse record in Kiffin's first year vs Kelly's first year due to the schedule changes.
LSU is banking on Kiffin's success in the portal/NIL era. We'll see if it works or not.

LSU athletics is practically broke due to massive new coaching contracts, major buyouts, and sweeping cuts. Despite operating as one of the most profitable college brands in the country, the department operates on razor-thin margins. The financial strain has hit an unprecedented level due to several compounding factors:Massive Buyouts: LSU has committed staggering amounts to fired coaches. The university ultimately agreed to pay football coach Brian Kelly his entire buyout of nearly $54 million over six years.New Contracts: Replacing Kelly required signing Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin to a seven-year contract worth $91 million.Revenue Sharing: The NCAA now requires Division I schools to share revenue with athletes, mandating upwards of $20.5 million annually from top-tier athletic departments like LSU's.Campus Cuts: While the athletics department is trying to figure out how to cover massive roster and buyout costs, the broader university is dealing with federal funding reductions and has mandated campus-wide austerity measures and budget cuts. For a deep dive into LSU's athletic department finances and the challenges ahead for college

Nah. We let the overpaid, washed vet walk and let y'all sign him to his last major contract and hate yourselves for four years because you paid for what he used to be able to do.
