This sort of implies an expectation that at some point in your life you'll have the thought, "man, I'd really like to take just this one, but I'd better not since I won't be able to undo it."

Texas A&M is a great academic institution and leads the country in Fortune 500 CEOs

This line was repeated several times in this thread but turns out it's not true. UPenn, Cornell, Harvard, Purdue, Boston College and the University of Wisconsin all had more (Iowa State had the same number). Interestingly, 23 of the Fortune 500 CEOs have no degree at all (Michael Dell, who started Dell Computer in his dorm room at Texas, falls into this category). It's noteworthy that most, if not all, of the Fortune 500 CEOs that attended A&M undergrad wised up and went to a different school for their MBA. If A&M was such a hotbed of talent, why are all these tech companies moving to Austin and not Collie Station?

A&M has been the butt of many jokes on this forum. They are a proud University and i hope they beat the shite out of UTx.

That doesn't mean i'll not make fun of any SEC fanbase.....but they were brave enough to play in the hardest league in the country.

Good luck to UTx they look strong....but they'll be beaten. SEC is a hard confrence.

The problem is you're a generic state school with some awful traditions and off-putting uniqueness.

And as an aside, A&M isn't even in the same galaxy as Michigan State or NC State in terms of location/beautiful campus.

Your comparisons need to be Texas Tech or Oklahoma State.

Beautiful campus? Who gives a frick. BTW, I'm assuming you went to Texas State or something and have never actually been on the 40 Acres because it is ugly as frick and you better watch your arse if you walk off campus and meet up with some of the homeless encampments.

The way we beat the shite out of Bama in Tuscaloosa last year? You're still bitter, I get it.

You’re left out. You’re not in the know. You’re still enamored with cyber trucks.

Huge life sciences research center is planned in College Station. I’ve been hearing about this for months.

Liar…UT really has zero military connection. They didn’t even have a ROTC program until AFTER WWII. While almost every other school did and provided officers. A&M has provided and continues to provide large numbers of serving officers. Check out the Commandant of the US Marine Corp for one example. Texas has always been draft dodging liberals.

I actually went to UT. I was pretty surprised at the military connection/involvement and support for veterans. I had always assumed it was as you describe, but I saw it firsthand and was pleasantly surprised to see that I was wrong.

As for the "liar" comment, it's the internet and all...but don't get so used to it that you slip up and accidentally say it in person one day. Some people don't take kindly to it and will beat you into the fricking ground for it.

Lol, you're hilarious, not to mention clueless (and clearly are not in the know). Household names headquartered in Austin that are not named Tesla: Whole Foods, Dell, AMD, Yeti Coolers, Alamo Drafthouse, Kendra Scott, Vrbo, etc., etc., etc. This of course doesn’t count companies like Apple, Amazon, Meta and Google that have a massive presence here, but are not headquartered here. Congrats, though, on having a lot of things “planned" in Collie Station...

A&M gets alot of shite but it's a good university and the alumni are pretty cool too, more down to earth than the UT guys. The yell leaders need to go however

They'll try.

I'll take an Aggie over a Longhorn in a fight any fricking day of the week.

Gig 'em.

How do you change your image of becoming a diploma mill with 70,000 students?

My little brother was a Corps dork at A&M (and served as a Navy pilot for 10 years) but I'm pretty sure I could take him (he's a lot smaller than me, lol). Anyway, we'll find out soon enough when it really counts on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

My dad was a member of the band and Corps and flew on bombers during the Cold War. He could take literally anyone.

And yes, November 30 is going to be epic.

A&M is what they've always been.

A weird bunch with an average athletic department that has never won anything significant, especially in football.

A&M is the same program they were in the BIG XII. Always looking up. They just switched conferences.

If you are sincere Im good. Texas has beaten some of Bama's best teams in the past.

Joe Namath still says he got a raw deal at the goal line.

My dad joined the Army Air Corps in 1942 when he was 17 (yes, that makes me old, haha). He flew for SAC in the 1950's and then went on to become a pilot for American Airlines. Greatest generation, by god...
