Perkins boneheaded play could’ve cost us the game. Stupid move on his part

Which fundamentally is the wrong thing to do every single time when rushing the QB. D-linemen have been taught since the beginning of time to keep your arms up in order to be able to bat down a pass.

There was absolutely nothing boneheaded about that play by Perkins. It’s was simply a misfortunate penalty that is almost impossible to avoid if you are doing your job rushing the QB.

Thread recap:
LSU complains about refs even when they win.
Arkansas still mad they suck, blaming it on the refs historically.
Mizzou fan chimes in where they aren't involved because they crave any attention they can get.

That was such a bad call.

Right elbow comes across the helmet, that's going to be roughing every time. When going for quarterback, arms need to be down to avoid this.
So rushers are no longer supposed to even attempt to bat down a pass?

Perkins is a dirty player and got some late hits in on KJ and was also standing over people on the ground. Refs were easy on Perkins all game.

And we all know if anyone knows about sucking, it’s Missouri fans. (And A&M fans)

I think its a horrible rule but the correct call. I would love to see the rule changed that once the QB leaves the pocket, he is no longer awarded the same protection and should be treated like a RB or WR on a carry.

This thread would be better with an actual clip of the play in question

It becomes a risk vs benefit issue, however, if you're coming in from the passers non-throwing side, then the odds of you batting a pass go down considerably.
A similar play cost us the 2015 game against Arkansas when Haynes grabbed Allen's facemask totally unnecessarily and gave them an extra shot at 2pt conversion that won the game.

He roughed him. Refs called it. Not sure what's confusing.

Perkins is a loud mouth bytch so even though I don’t think he should have been flagged, I am happy he was.

Can someone legit explain Perkins roughing the passer call late in ARK-LSU game
Y'all won, and you're fixated on this shite? Bad ref calls happen all throughout the game.
FFS, you can have two players running full speed that are shifting, juking, jiving and they happen to make incidental contact with their helmets and the defensive player gets thrown out of the game.
We are in a clown world where logic isn't applied correctly.

It's not similar.

The REC called it up just to screw with LSU.
