It's not the rule anymore. It's a 6" circle at the top of the helmet. They would have never seen that on replay.

Just off the top of my head with an example nowhere near a offensive players head?

I thought it was live, watched the replay and saw it wasn’t.
Great play by the safety, saved the game. Without that it’s probably get the ball back with about a minute to go and no time outs needing to drive the length of the field to score.

I cant wait for the games today to see how many time I can call targeting every time a player’s helmet makes contact with another player during a tackle.

Rules for targeting are different while in the pocket.
Also that was a good clean hit.
The qb ducks his head to prepare tomorrow contact and got his face mask hit.

If that's the play we're talking about, I don't agree that it is targeting.

It was a good hard clean hit. I had no problem at all with the no call.

Led with crown of helmet.

Also targeting. I agree

And the one on Lovett’s TD catch

After a night’s sleep and rewatching the replay multiple times, I also am good with the no call. The reason everyone is having a cow right now is because the rule sucks and is inconsistently applied, and because there’s a sense Georgia got a win it didn’t deserve last night.

Ok , still doesn’t make leading with helmet on play all are talking about right.

Both responses to you. I will save you the trouble of searching and post them again.
LSU player Sevyn Banks ejected for targeting as he is carried off the field on a stretcher.
Or maybe you're intentionally overlooking these examples because you don't understand the rule. I'm glad they didn't call it on Georgia last night. It's a dumb rule and I wanted UGA to win. The fact is that it was targeting by rule and it's been called that way fairly often now.

Clean hit. Football's a rough and fast sport. Some targeting calls are ridiculous.

I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy of tRant right now.

It’s supposed to be put your facemask in his chest. You can’t lead with the crown of the helmet for the safety of the tackler it a penalty
Do you enjoy being wrong all the time??
I love these posts. Guy quotes someone making a correct statement and asks if they enjoy being wrong.
