It’s supposed to be put your facemask in his chest. You can’t lead with the crown of the helmet for the safety of the tackler it a penalty.

If merely leading with the crown of the helmet is targeting, as was called against Florida, then yes UGA was guilty of it.

But Florida is nationally irrelevant lately.
Georgia is a national title contender year after year. When you are that status, you do get the benefits. That’s how sports has always worked.

Send in your complaints to the offices of the ACC..
Multiple missed calls on both sides of the ball!

I'll ask you as I've asked several Bammers and no one ever answers. When in the last ten years have you seen a player called for targeting that led with his helmet hitting a non defenseless player on a place other than the head or neck area?
It's an honest question. I can't think of one. Maybe you know.

Mostly because this penalty has been misapplied so many times that when its even close agaisnt a team people want to lose, theyll demand its called.
Was it targeting...no. Could the refs have called it and "justified" it, absolutely

Indeed. Clear targeting, as you can actually see the helmets collide, on Dom Sanders after his first TD catch. He was defenseless so leading with the helmet was not needed. Just head to head or head to neck contact.

I literally posted an example, but I know Florida isn’t a title contender so that doesn’t count.

Where? I'll be glad to take a look. I wasn't talking to you Gator, so I did not see your response.

They are likely that, but the slew of calls made in UGA’s favor (the egregious holding call on the following drive) made it really clear there was NFL level rigging going on once the game got close. I had zero skin in this game, and while I’d have loved for GT to win just because I want to see the whole thing blown up, the Dawgs winning should shut both the Gumps and the Runts out of the playoffs and is for the greater good.

Do you enjoy being wrong all the time?? You must because you have the dumbest fricking takes I have ever seen. Also thanks for continuing to prove me right that all you do is post about UGA

He used the crown of his helmet to hit the quarterback in the chest. If you look at the video, he had his head down his head was not up where he hit him with the face mask. It should’ve been targeting..

I'm not Dan Jackson, but I do believe he was given the game ball, or gamebaw as you call it in Cajun country.

It’s shocking after this many years yall still don’t know the targeting rule. Defenseless doesn’t matter. Being a runner doesn’t matter. He doesn’t have to even hit King’s head or neck area.
If you lead with the crown of your helmet, you can hit them in the thigh and it will still be targeting. There are so many variations of the rule. It’s not a one size fits all.

The defender's helmet hit the ball and that's what caused the fumble. It wasn't targeting. King's helmet (facemask) bounced off the top of the defender's helmet from the force of the blow on the ball and that's why people think it's targeting. They're just wrong.
