Do you really give a shite when you play Mizzou, Vandy, UK, or USCe?

I'm somewhat convinced pods are nothing more than scheduling fanfiction. We haven't seen anything about pods from anyone other than journalists

Yeah, Vandy and Kentucky are great road trips especially if you like bourbon, and USCe are good people.

More importantly, Alabama wouldn't get away with beating down Tennessee every year and would have to play at Florida and Georgia every so often.

Why not place Texas in the West and OU in the East. This allows all teams that are currently in those divisions to retain the same games as before thus each team receives one new game each year and that is Texas or the East teams get OU.

Texas cross division game will be OU. Then once every blue moon the East teams will get Texas (as they do now other West teams and the West teams will get OU ). You don't have to make a complete mess of everything to get this done plus you get 9 SEC games per year and 3 little sisters of the poor if that is your deal. Your AD will need to get on the phone and can some of those big OOC games for the future because you just added Texas every year (West teams) and OU (East teams)

Other than that, I can't think of one good reason why pods are better than two 7 team divisions with no permanent crossover games and 9 games.

The only decent rivalries that would be lost on an annual basis would be these:

LSU vs. Alabama
LSU vs. Florida
LSU vs. Auburn (which doesn't have much history)

And for the lesser schools...

Miss St. vs. Alabama
Miss St. vs. Auburn
Ole Miss vs. Alabama

That's pretty much it.

But think what you'd be GAINING:

Auburn vs. Florida
Auburn vs. Tennessee
Alabama vs. Florida
Alabama vs. Georgia
Texas vs. Texas A&M
Texas vs. Arkansas

To me this offsets in a big, big way.

4 pods let’s one preserve rivalries through perm cross pod games. Also, if one desired, w pods could be paired up and play each other (7games plus 2 rivalry games would be 9 conference games) to determine that division winner who then goes to the championship game.

Ex. Pod 1 paired with pod2 then switch where pods 1 and 3 are paired, then next year pods 1 and 4. Everyone gets to play everyone else in 3 years time.

I personally think it should be a 10 game schedule.

I say go to two divisions, and 11 conference games...

you play everyone in your division, plus four in the other division...

one OOC game...

You don't need pods or divisions to have a playoff. You could just take the highest ranked teams.

This seems like a perfect way to ensure Alabama is in the SEC Championship Game every season.

Think about it... they missed the SEC Title Game in 2011, 2013, 2017, and 2019..... and in may of those seasons people would have said they were the best team despite not being at the top of the division standings.

Picking and choosing 2 of the 4 Pod winners seems like a recipe for making sure the network favorite is always in the game. Count me out.

To avoid the likelihood of Georgia taking 12 years to play at TAMU.

Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Vanderbilt... the East is way easier now and why we're adding OU and Texas in the first place

But holy shite Cascade Platinum pods have changed doing the dishes for me. I don't prewash shite anymore.

I have found cascade pods don't fully dissolve in my Bosch dishwasher, they get stuck in the little compartment and the plastic doesn't totally disintegrate.

When you are moving you can store possessions in them.

Go to 13 games for two OOC's. Or if kept at 12, then 10 conf games with 2 OOC's. OOC's are important for a variety of reasons.

Maybe 3 OOC so teams can get 6-7 wins and a bowl. No need to cut the leagues throat. 10 games will make it impossible for some of our middle of the pack teams to get to 6 wins.

It's a recipe for getting the best teams into the championship. While I didn't express it well, I meant the teams with the best SEC records. Actual rankings could be used to break ties after head to head considerations. Divisions can go awry, like in the 90s and early aughts when the West was mostly dogshit, and as the East had been in recent years. Many times the obviously second best team can get excluded because of the division they are in.

Why the divisions makes more sense over pods. More balance teams in division when you split the schools using States from Southeast and South Midwest. This make most sense. Then have 3 crossovers. Not a hard thing to do. No excuses! 10 SEC games is going to be much better.

I vote for a draft. Just have commissioners draft the team highest on their draft board. Cover it on live television. Every five years re-draft. How much fun would that be?
