Can someone explain the Caitlin Clark disdain on the board?

Not going to say "hate" because no grown man over the age of 25 should be talking about hate and haters. It's corny and you are trying too hard.
By all accounts she has everything that this board is looking for – she's pleasant and humble, she's not a terrible social justice lesbian, she goes to church with her boyfriend, she understands the importance of being a role model.
Unfortunately my framework of what people think about Caitlin Clark on sports message boards is skewed because this is the only sports message board I read.
Are other sports message board destroying the poor girl, or is this place just "special" with one too many nutjob jealous LSU fans, the ones who think that "the only reason why women's college basketball gets three times the rating of college baseball and the only reason why their popularity isn't comparable is because ESPN has an agenda and ESPN is evil... Pete Maravich better. Angel Reese better. Corndog corndog"
Or is it even deeper than that?

I have zero disdain for Catlin Clark. I have disdain for the media pushing the story.

No disdain. It’s just extremely odd and completely senseless how she is being compared to an athlete of another sport like it is some sort of milestone. In all fairness, I doubt she asked for all this hoopla.

If I had to pay to see one basketball player right now, it'd either be Lebron James or Caitlin Clark. I've never seen anything like it. She's shooting 40-something percent from 25 feet and out, which is just insane. She also reminds me of Larry Bird and Larry Bird was my slow white kid childhood hero

It’s the girl power narrative and also she isn’t hot at all. If every girl on earth looked like her I would think I was asexual or gay.
