Can someone ask the REC refs why this wasn’t flagged for targeting?

Since Bama gets the benefit of all the judgment calls, I was shocked to see this one go uncalled completely.

Specifically, what indicators are missing?

I agree, Milroe lowered his head and initiated contact…he should have been flagged for targeting.

If the call they called on Andre Sam was targeting then this was too.

Incidental and a football play but if one is then both are. Vice versa if one isn’t then the other isn’t.

Dallas turner’s was intentional to injure and not a football play.

Crouched and led with the crown of the helmet. 100% targeting according to NCAA rules

Can you link me to the other 699 threads (or even one), showing this play and discussing the no-call?

Then promptly go frick yourself.

TIA.

Well I guess u actually have to hit the runner? LSU should never be called for targeting they miss too many tackles.

There are no flags for targeting as a ball carrier. Sorry.

However, there are a list of clearly defined indicators for defenders, and what Milroe does with his shoulder (or head) is irrelevant.

This is spot on! According to the rules that is exactly the way it should have been called

There’s a level to just being obsessed and then becoming a pathetic troll. You’ve clearly rocketed past just mere obsession. You used to at least be somewhat inventive; now you’re pretty much pathetic.

Should’ve been. When I played, the coaches always stressed to see what you hit. Tackling like the video above is a good way to break your neck

This is true though it definitely helps with determining intent.

If the ball carrier is actively crouching and lowering their head it’s difficult to say that the defender intentionally made contact because it’s impossible to anticipate.

However say a quarterback has not pulled down to run, and say they didn’t duck their head, and say a defender drove their helmet into the chin under the facemask and intentionally dropped their body weight on that area got flagged due to it being late took out the best player on both teams AND the defender had a history of this behavior then one might would say that it was intentional.

You’re probably just trolling, but offensive players should get penalized when they lower their heads attempting to initiate contact. In this case, it looked like Milroe was just trying to get down and actually tried to side step defender.
