If Kirby can put UGA on the elite stage in only 2 seasons, why can't pruitt do it at Tenn?

Pruitt won’t have access to the players Kirby does.

The only reasons Kirby has had this success is that he inherited a team full of good players and they mostly decided to stick around for their Sr season.

Pruitt has to build from scratch, and good UT teams often have had several top plaers from GA. Pruitt will have to go up against UGA, Clemson, USCe, and Bama regionally. This will be a tough sell.

Because Pruitt doesn't have near the talent to start with that Smart did. UT should make a big jump from year 1 to year 2. But to go from winless in conference play to playoffs in 3 years is not likely.

This... and if Tennessee fans or admin is expecting similar results, shite could get ugly quickly.

Mullen maybe. Pruitt no. Tennessee needs far more work than Georgia did. Will take a few years to get the program completely back.

Especially not competing for a national title...no chance.

Personally i thought it was a great hire. Pruitt will find some smart football players that he can work with and build them up, just like he did at Georgia. He'll also be OCD detail-oriented just like Kirby and be relentless in everything just like Kirby. He'll be stealing some of our recruits by this time next year.

I actually give Pruitt a good deal of success for our success this season. We don't a dumbass problem on defense like we've always had, and a lot of that was Pruitt identifying some players and recruits that he could work with and them coach them up.

But to answer your question, only if Pruitt finds some swinging dick generational QB and have him ready to go by Year 2 will he have any chance.

Give Tennessee credit. Right not they aren't the biggest or strongest team in team in the world, but they are slow!!!

The talent disparity between UGA and the rest of the east now and going forward for a few years is huge.

Kirby walked in to the team he has now. Pruitt has an actual rebuild job to do. I'm confident in him, though. Excellent coach and recruiter.

Richt didn't leave richt our qb or our right tackle, but he left a solid group.

This is simply untrue. 3/5 Starting OL are Kirby’s. The QB is Kirby’s. The top 3/4 WRs are Kirby’s. The TEs (mostly) are Kirby’s. The defense is indeed upperclassmen starting, but Marshall/Clark/Reed/McGhee/Rochester are big contributors. The kicking and punting is all Kirby. This team has a host of players who spent some time under Richt, but Kirby’s stamp and recruits are all over the field.

Lol our roster is dogshit compared to what Kirby inherited. Our upperclassmen have never been in a real collegiate S&C program

Pruitt will be fired in 5 years. Then Gruden will come. It's happening!
