Tennessee is in exponentially worse shape in just about every way relative to where UGA was when Kirby got here

No, Tennessee does not have the resources or recruiting base for a quick turnaround, and Philip Fulmer is still lurking in the shadows.

Kirby walked in to the team he has now. Pruitt has an actual rebuild job to do. I'm confident in him, though. Excellent coach and recruiter.

Pretty much this. Coach Pruitt is going to have to overhaul/rebuild their roster and he can do it pretty fast. CJP can flat out recruit and he can flat out coach. If UT can show him some patience, I think it'll pay off for them in 4 to 5 years. I'm a big Pruitt fan and I'm confident he will succeed.

The only reasons Kirby has had this success is that he inherited a team full of good players and they mostly decided to stick around for their Sr season

Yes, that’s the only reason. Richt would have done the same too.

We gave Butch 5 years, so It’s safe to say Pruitt will be afforded plenty of time

Tennessee doesn’t have the talent UGA had when Kirby got there. Pruitt’s a good coach and recruiter, but it will take 3-4 seasons.

Kirby is having the year he is having because he convinced a half dozen great players to stay for their senior seasons ... and he is capitalizing and building off of that within his fertile recruiting backyard.

Pruitt does not have a half dozen great players nor does he have the backyard.

That's putting it as simply, but as succinctly, as possible.

No. Kirby had a huge head start with a lot of talent.

Pruitt has nothing but garbage to start with in Knoxville. Barring a miracle, it will take him all of four years to have a shot at the East.
